What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Revox A 50

Revox A50 Stereo Amplifier
The A50 amplifier is a unit of central importance within a hifi music system. Its power handling capacity is a decisive factor for high quality sound reproduction from tape, disc or off the air. For this reason, extremely careful attention has been given to every design detail of the Revox A50  Stereo Power Amnplifier, whose sine wave rms rating of 2x40 watts will satisfy the most discriminating demands. Silicon transistors are used throughout its circuitry, which is made up of pluggable PC-boards. From the softest sounds up to the rated output power, distortion remains negligible. pre-set level controls eliminate any volume changes when switching between different signal sources. A separate button provides for off tape monbitoring through the power amplifier. Step-type bass and treble controls permit exactly reproducible settings for each channel, as well as a defined Linear response. headphone outputs and switchable filters round up the many distinctive features of the outstanding revox A50 Stero  Power Amplifier.
