What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Mordaunt-Short Festival series 2

Festival Series 2
Comprising the DSB 208 bass-and mid-frequency transducer and a dome tweeter whose upper response extends smoothly beyond audibility, the Festival Series 2 is a sensitive, versatile, high -performance system of exceptional "musicality".
With its extended bass response, high power handling and low distortion, the festival Series 2 is therefore as eminently suitable for use in sophisticated high power installations as in smaller or more limited systems.

Features
System design - compact, infinite baffle enclosure. For use shelf-mounted horizontaly or verticaly
Cabinet - 15 mm high-density board construction. Sides wood-veneered with internal balancing veneers; rear spray-finished neutral fleck.
Grille - acoustically transparent, deep brown woven fabric on 9 mm board frame with nylon stud fastenings.
Cabinet finish - selected teak or walnut veneer.
Transducers - DSB for bass/mid frequency and for high-frequency 19 mm wide dispersion synthetic dome
Dividing network - high grade, ferrite core inductors and low-loss, close-tolerance capacitors on printed circuit board.
Electrical connection - terminal moulding incorporating both standard DIN socket and spring-loaded push-button connectors for stripped wire ends. Plugs and leads supplied.
