SAE Mark IXB

 Solid State Stereo Preamplifier Equalizer
The Mark IXB effectively unites the flexibility of an equalizer with one of the most advanced preamplifier designs in the idustry. Because only the finest professional type slide potentiometers and push-buttons are incorporated, the Mark IXB's operating characteristics are similar to those used in professional applications. The seven-band equalizer is especially useful to compensate for poor recordings and room acoustics, and to modify the tonal characteristics of loudspeakers.
When used with components of commensurate quality, the Mark IXB will demonstrate its outstanding dynamic signal range and perform with astonishing clarity..
The quiet operation of the Mark IXB and its precise, uncolored reproduction of the audio spectrum will bring out the optimum capabilities of either your phono cartridge or tape recorder.
 Seven-Band Equalizer
Professional-type equalizers, featuring feedback differential amplifiers furnish complete control of all programmed material. Toroid inductors and high-accuracy low-drift capacitors are used for all resonant networks. The Equalizers have a range selection of 8 dB or 16 dB with up to 12 dB/per/octave slopes as determined by seven center-detent slide controls.
 Volume  Control
The special volume slide-control is one of the most precise in the industry with channel to channel accuracy of 1 dB.
 Headphone
For private listening a front-panel stereo-headphone jack is provided which automatically disconnects the main output to the amplifier when a phone plug is inserted.
 Tape Monitor
Two stereo tape jakcs are located on the front and rear panels to record or monitor with either of two tape recorders.
 Push-Buttons
Three banks of four double-wiping contact push-button switches are used for program, mode, equalizer, and copy selection.
 EQ Defeat
A switch electrically eliminates equalization circuitry to provide flat response without disturbing slide-pot settings.

Added features
Two pairs of stero low-noise phono preamlifiers;
Four AC accessory outlets;
Center-detent balance control
