Sansui SF-2

 Omni-Radial Sound Field Speaker System
New breakthroughs in 4-channel stereo sound have created a demand for a new kind of speaker system, and now Sansui is pround to introduce a system that takes 4-channel to its thrilling sound pinnacle. The SF-2 Omni-Radial Sound Field Speaker System is not  just another omnidirectional speaker, but a completely new concept in sound-in-the-round, for it employs speakers facing both upwards and downwards sound in a full 360 degrees.
This 2-way 3-speaker system produces a vibrant and reverberant 4-channel sound field, for it has been designed to accurately reflect the very important, but often ignored, "indirect" sound waves of music reproduction. And these indirect waves are the vital element of the live concert hall sound field, the authentic "live" sound effect that so many speaker systems promise but so few deliver. With the SF-2, sound waves emanate with fine time differences and reach out to each corner of your listening room. No longer are these "indirect" waves overwhelmed and dissipated by the more "direct" soundwaves, thus leading to the harsh masking effect of sound reproduction. The SF-2 delivers greater sound reflection, in fact an ambience effect that adds depth and liveliness to your music - and comes very close to actually recreating the warmth and presence of the acoustically perfect concert hall. Four-channel sound reproduction is improved, for the unique top and bottom speaker arrangement does stereo wonders to bring out the best in the indirect sound of the recording.
In addition, sound diffusuion is extended in the SF-2 by the use of a new porous foam acoustic diffuser placed behind the Kumiko fretwork grille, a device which also helps to attain ideal dispersion of sound in the very high frequency range. Beautifully designed and finished, the SF-2 cabinet is made of solid natural wood and hard chipboard, specially treated to resist heat or stains. The system is actually an expensive piece of fine furniture - and looks it.  From the most respected name in stereo Sansui.
