Features
Preamplifier Section:
Transient
Intermodulation Distortion (TIM) design and controll versatility. Like the SM-7
and SC-7, features design parts specifically created to combat transient
intermodulation distortion.
Low Noise
and Low Distortion phono Equalizer
The Input is
a cascade defferential formed of low-nooise FET's, followed by a complete
push-pull amp and Darlington-connected SEPP output. The entire phono equalizer
circuit in PM-8 is DC for low distortion, low-TIM performance and better
transient response.
Pre-preamp
for MC cartridges, the built-in pre-amp is DC using low noise Fets at the
input. S/N ratio is extremely good thanks to low-impedance negative feedback
circuitry.
Features
Power Section
Powerful
low-TIM performance. Marantz use DC configurationthrought and improved every
circuit part for combat Transient Intermodulation Distortion, TIM
Marantz use
high speed power transistors created to our specifications and still more
important, and improved open-loop response to enable us to use a lower amount
of negative feedback thereby reducing the more ordinary forms of distortion.
Low Noise
and High Output configuration. The input of the Pm-8 is formed of a
differential Dual FET with matched thermal characteristics. Next is a duall FET
differential amp. An emitter/follower
buffer and a 3 stage darlington-connected output, ending in a parallel
push-pull circuit. This latter circuit is formed of an array of EBTs (Emitter -
Ballast - Transistor) with superb performance characteristics, both in high
power output and high speed switching.
Separate
power Supplies, Left ann Right channels receive power from separate supplies.
The predriver and power output sections each have their own transformer. To
further assure a constant energy supply a quartet of massive 15,000 µF
capacitors are used.

im looking for some good speakers for my home recording studio. i've been looking at the PARADIGM 7se MkII, but i need a speaker that can produce the correct bass frequencies when recording bass guitar, the behringer truth speakers that i'm using cant do it. right now i'm using a kenwood KA-3500 for an amp, but i want to eventually get something with a little more power. what are your prices and location, kijiji says ottawa. my email anthonyabaird@yahoo.ca
