MBL 300E speakers

This model is a 3½-way 4  floor standing speaker. For the reproduction of low-bass two very stiff aluminum drivers are used. The other frequencies are reproduced via a 170 mm midrange speaker with Kevlar membrane, a 28 mm soft dome tweeter and a magnetostatic super tweeter. The 60 mm sound panel made of laminated MDF, providesunshakeable stability.
The mbl 300E produces a bass that practically :lives" in the room and maintains a flat response to the lowest ranges. Even at extremely high volume levels there are no signs of stress. Thus, a sound basis is created whwereupo the other drivers can build their free, spatial sound spectrum with absolute reproduction of the original sound stage.

Features:
Magnetostatic super tweeter, for ultra high frequency bandwidth features a 4 mm aluminum mounting plate with sound dispersion grooves
Super tweeter housed in a separate closed chamber to avoid air compression
Soft dome tweeter with excellent linearity ±0,5 dB
Midrange driver utilizes a lightweight stiff Kevlar membrane for fast pulse response
Two woofer drivers with black anodized aluminum cones in separate chambers
Newly developed crossovers made from top-class materials (air coils, metal-oxide resistors, etc.)
Crossover design for bi-wiring, bi-amping
Wiring with top-quality low oxygen single crystal OCC/OFC copper cables
Low-resonance 22 mm MDF cabinet
60 mm driver panel thickness
Unique exterior asymmetric panel face with curved edges-reduces edge defraction
Prefabricated cabinet base for mounting to MBL custom designed acoustically correct stands

The unique bass drivers used in the mbl 300E are equipped with newly developed, high quality, black anodized, aluminum cones which constitute a significant breakthrough in performance. Never before have drivers of this size been able to produce such prodigious bass response. We have succeeded in silencing secondary vibrations by adding magnesium to the cone material. Over and above there are two woofers in each speakers, the work load is reduced. As a consequence, bass reproduction is fast, powerful and very deep.
The cone is the most critical factor to the sound of a modern midrange driver. Overlooking certain aspects of a cone's structure and design, especially maximizing stiffness without regard for good selfdamping, results in less than musical sounding drivers. Colorations created within the material of the cone cannot be eliminated by fancy crossovers. Because the sound of the cone so directly dictates the sonic signature of the loudspeaker, great attention was spent researching the ultimate cone material.
The result of our effort is the Kevlar material that we believe sets a new reference in reproduction. The Kevlar material combines the precision and transparency of hard cones  with the smoothness and musicality of softer materials.
The benchmark 170 mm driver with the lightweight and extremely stiff Kevlar membrane is part of the mbl 300 E midrange. Its response is extremely precise and fast. Open construction eliminates compression effects allowing for the very finest nuances to be reproduced in a dynamic and genuine way. Having this extremely rigid and lightweight membrane allows a higher crossover frequency, optimal to the tweeter.
The extraordinary 28 mm dome tweeter can be operated in a frequency range of 450 Hz to 27 kHz with a linearity of ±0,5 dB. This ismade possible by innovative engineering that avoids air compression behind the dome. A large volume of copper surrounds the magnet center pole absorbing heat. Ferro fluid, normally used as the cooling medium for the voice coil is fuly  avoided. Thus the moving coil is fully avoided. Thus the moving coil responds to the smallest current impulses and converts themn immediately into movement. Inn our speaker design this driver is used from 2,5 kHz far above the low-end cutoff frequency.

mbl Magnetostatic Super Tweeter

MBL Magnetostatic Super Tweeter
Over the 28 mm dome a new magnetostatic driver is used as a super tweeter. The decision to use this design is the result of some fundamental physical considerations. For the representation of frequencies exceeding 30 kHz in an authentic way only a ribbon tweeter, electrostatic or, as in this case, a magnetostatic transducer can be considered. Ribbons and electrostats have disadvantages compared to a genuine magnetostat. For example an electrostat requires a separate high voltage power supply to the transducer and has a smaller dynamic range as compared to a magnetostat. A ribbon tweeter does not offer the longterm stability and has a very narrow sound dispersion.

Only the magnetostat comprises all the advantages such as:
Extremely low mass, resulting in a perfect transient response.
High dynamics transparency and fidelity in detail
No partial oscillation
Good radiation characteristics
Linear frequency range up to over 50 kHz
Accustically neutral foil - no sonic signature
Constant impedance
Very high long-term stability

Toshiba PC-3060 cassette deck

Stereo cassette deck with Dolby B
The beginning of the range of Toshiba front-loaders and endowed with featuress which demonstrate very through thinking.
At its very popular price, the PC-3060 has exceptionally low wow-and-flutter. It has an auto-stop mechanism to protect both deck and tape from strain, a timer switch setting for automatically recording programmes while you are away.
The PC-3060 gives you full control of bias and equalization settings, so the best combination for all the latest high performance tapes can always be found - whether normal, chromium dioxide or ferrichrome.
The smooth and positive pianotype control levers are a joy to use and are indicative of the PC-3060's precise engineering. Cue/review plus auto-play facilities are combined on the play/rewind and fast forward controls. Stop and Eject functions are combined, so that the cassette is only ejected (and the compartment cover opened) after tape transport has stopped.

A unit type employing an abundant numbar of printed circuit boards. FM front-end, multiplex circuit, AM tuner, FM-IF unit, equalizer, tone control, main amplifier, etc., All major circuits are of a complete unit type employing precision printed circuit boards. Troubles due to wiring have been virtually eliminated assuring many years of annoyance fre operation.
Transistorized front end.
Transistorization of FM front-end, which is technically very difficult, has been successfully achieved. The circuit system is of a 3 transistor, separate excitation front end, and a multiplex tuning 4-IF stage, of which 2 stages are limiters with AGC. An excellent sensitivity of 3 µV as per IHF specifications and an image ratio of 55 dB (in 82 MHz). A wide band ratio detection method is employed.
Automatic switching mechanism with multiplex circuit.
Separation of the multiplex circuit is more than 20 dB over a wide range of 40 - 8000 Hz. In addition, an FM mono/stereo automatic switching mechanism, a switching unit employing Schmidt circuit is provided. This ensures unfailing and stable operations. Owing an FM stereo broadcast a separate mono - stereo indicating lamp lights to show it.
Tuning indicator to assure precise tuning.
Accurate and precise tuning is imperative for a noise free clear tone reception of a broadcast. SX-300T is equipped with a high-sensitivity tuning meter for tuning indication.
Low Frequency Output Circuit
The main amplifier adopts a complementary circuit which does not use an input transformer. The OTL system of single ended push pull (SEPP) gives a rich sound reproduction in a wide band of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz . Other excellent features include: the output power of 40W in music power, (distortion factor is less than 1%), effective output of 15W x 2 (distortion factor is less than 1%), damping factor of 25 (1 kHz/8 )
