The CSA 8
incorporates just three controls for input, audio level (which remains
calibrated in db steps) and an on/off switch. Advanteges can be gained of cause
by reducing the controls, enabling the shortest and most direct signal path for
a clean sound. The input selection caters for tuner, CD and AUX 1.
The
valves have been replaced with an solid dtate circuit creating the most
significant change in price and nature of the sound, but not in the quality
itself. The sound stage has been brought forward as in transistor amplifiers,
yet the smooth character attributed to Copland has been retaned.
