JVC 4VC-5244 turntable

This is the news that music lovers have been waiting for, now, they can play discrete 4-channel records on their home entertainment units. JVC, the developer of the world's first discrete 4-channel records, has found a home for them - two revolutionary discrete 4-channel record playback components. Whoever thought these beautiful sounds could be so easy, so economical, so convenient. JVC did. After all, JVC, developed the discrete 4-channel record in the first place. So it was just a matter of time before they came up with components capable of reproducing these magic record sounds.

Here are two revolutionary components that will be heard from for a long time - the 4VC-5244, a precision turntable with a built-in 4-channel demodulator, and the 4DD-5, a compact demodulator designed to be added to any existing 2-channel turntable and 4-channel reproducing system.

 Operation of the 4VC-5244 is in every way the same as a regular stereo record changer. The difference is the four signal cords which come from the rear panel. These signal cords carry the separate signals of the four discrete channels to a 4-channel amplifier.

The high quality record changer uses a 4-pole outer rotor induction motor driving a high inertia 11" die-cast platter at accurate speeds.

The cartridge was specially developed for the 4VC-5244 and uses the CD-4 Shibata stylus 4DT-35X giving a frequency response from 20 to 50,000 Hz.
