Garrard GT15 turntable

The GT15 incorporates the essential design elements of the most expensive turntables  - Delglide automation, ultra-light tonearm and Synchro-Lab motor. The discerning shopper will recognize ia at once as a sensible component for fine music systems. To be sure, there will be many music lovers who will purchase the GT15 because of its surprisingly low price. These buyers are in for a pleasant surprise. Their modest investment will return pleasurable, high performance dividends for years to come.

The tonearm

It weighs a remarkable 10 grams. And this ultra-low mass arm rides on jewel bearings to ensure low friction, faultless tracking. Stylus pressure is set by an adjustable calibrated counterweight. The GT15 tonearm tracks effortlessly, even across a warped record, because its low mass enables it to respond readily to abrupt vertical motions. Remember, the greater the mass of a tonearm, the harder it is to stop its motion and reverse it.

The motor

Another version of the time-tested, dependable Garrard Synchro-Lab unit. Just as in the higher priced GT25, the motor consists of two sections. One section starts platter rotation with a powerful thrust the moment the "start" control is used. The other section maintains absolutely steady speed despite the changes always taking place in your voltage supply at home.

The platter

Heavy lathe-turned aluminum for uniform density and balance. The platter is isolated from the motor by a precision-ground flexible belt.

The controls

Like all the models in the GT series, GT15 provides manual single play, automatic single play, automatic multiple play and automatic repeat play. Its controls are sensibly grouped and easy to operate - the feather touch "start" button is just one example.

The belt-driven GT15 employs the patented Delglide Automatic System, gentle cueing, two point record support, precise anti-skating control and a hand some base and hinged dust cover. Its reliability is underscored by a 3 year limited warranty including parts and labor. It's good turntable to start with, and as your music system grows in sophistication you'll find it's a good one to stay with.
