Sonus Faber "MUSICA"

Musica is a pure and precise amplifier, designed and
manufactured with state of the art of technology.
Musica is the perfect expression of the Sonus faber philosophy, embodying simplicity while representing the quest for the finest sound reproduction possible, above and beyond that which fashion dictates. This pure and simple design, while state-of-the-art in terms of technology, contrasts with the sophisticated technical considerations applied in its conception and construction, the interior accomodates the ample power supply and ultra high-speed circuitry.

In creating this precision instrument, Sonus faber did not regard absolute power as a design objective. Instead, we concentrated on musical quality, for the kind of reproduction which involves the listener's heart. Musica has been designed not just by us but for us. And for music lovers everywhere.

La Cizek One presentava inoltre, come anche i modelli minori 2 e 3, un interruttore che permetteva di scegliere il fattore di smorzamento o fattore di merito (Q) delle basse frequenze fra 0.6 e 1.0;
questo permetteva di decidere se ascoltare
con bassi più secchi e frenati (Q = 0.6),
oppure con bassi lievemente enfatizzati (Q = 1.0)

Two toroidal, 400VA transformer, one per channel.
Dual mono design. Pure class A operation up to 50W at 8 Ohm.
Only double-sided metallized polypropylene film capacitor in the signal path.

The preamplifier power supply is stabilized using discrete components linear regulators. The first amplification is before the attenuator to optimize the coupling with the source. The input stage of the preamplifier is realized with two low noise bipolar transistor (MPSA18). The internal stages are DC coupled and the offset is reduced by means of an integrating amplifiers.
The input attenuator is realized with two cascaded integrated resistance network without integrated output buffer. High current capability.
The protection and control sections are galvanically insulated from the analog sections to minimize the digital noise. No mains fuse.
The mains current is measured at the input of the transformer (with a current probe) and in case of malfunctions it's shutted off. The voltage of both channel is measured by means of optocoupler to avoid any ground loop.
The DC offset on the output (loudspeakers) is also monitored by means of optocouplers. The protections are realized with a Programmable Logic Device (PLD), more fast and reliable if compared to a microcontroller.

PEARL EVOLUTION "Ballerina 301"

The “Ballerina 301” in an unconventional loudspeaker design.
Its highly rigid integrated supporting structure is made with 25 high pressure curved and counter-veined layers of wood.
The structure high rigidity and the absence of a traditional separated front baffle effectively oppose their strength to the back force of the drivers allowing them to express their full dynamic potential.

Every form of energy always follows the easiest path to its transmission.
Vibration is energy.
The peculiar counter veined plywood structure of the "Ballerina 301" is designed to offer a single preferential path to the flow of vibrations, as visible in the scheme on below.
The thicker and stiffer back structure collects the energy making it inefficient, and the eventual residuals are completely dispersed in the high mass “delta” structure at the bottom of the loudspeaker. Furthermore the absence of closed enclosures in the main frame provides vibrations no element that may resonate.

The peculiar cabinet construction of the "Ballerina 301" gives this loudspeaker a very special sound emission.
The isodynamic tweeter is completely embodied in the wood to express its full dynamics.
The inverted dome midrange, thanks to its peculiar free space positioning and its carefully controlled back volume emits a back “coloration” that pleasingly contributes to the richness of the ambience (see scheme on left side).
The magnesium-aluminium alloy woofer, and its graphite mass loaded polyurethane box have, as well, a back emission, this creates a non invasive ambience sound (see scheme on the left). The bass is loaded trough a semi-Venturi double chamber that allows a very limited blow and a perfect phase matching of the driver.

GRAAF GM-50 New

GM 50 Integrated Amplifier

GM-50 is the most recent GRAAF creation, an integrated amplifier born to complete our production of the highest class. GM-50 includes in a single frame the features and the level of performance that in the past were an exclusive of GRAAF preamplifiers and power amplifiers. Construction qualities, sound performance and the highest finishing level are joined with the lower cost and the ease of use of an integrated amplifier. The "GM" monogram on the front panel is a synonimous of the greatest sound quality, until now exclusive for top level electronics like GRAAF GM-200 power amplifier and GM- 13.5 B preamplifier. The goal of GM-50 is to establish new quality standards between top class integrated amplifiers.

As usual for GRAAF electronics, GM-50 aestethics are very accurate even in the slightest details. They rely on the coupling of a massive 15 mm aluminium panel with a transparent crystal that allows the vision of the internal circuit. Led indicators show through the crystal the source selected by the user, making the front panel even more attractive. Large rotary knobs give a comfortable access to listening level control and source selection. They look solid and sturdy; the pleasant feeling given by their use is quite what the most demanding audiophile can expect of a GRAAF electronic.
The careful manifacturing and the plentiful sizing of the most critical components are suggested by a frame depth of almost 50 centimetres. GM-50 has also a remote control for on/off switching, source selection, listening level control and mute switching. The amplifier can manage up to six line sources: two of them with balanced outputs, the others with single ended ones. Two tape outputs are provided as well.

High quality binding posts allow the connection of a couple of loudspeakers. Elegance and refinement, joined with versatility and ease of use are just a preview for the exclusive GM-50 internal features. They have been considered with the greatest care in the aim to reach new limits for sound and quality in top-class integrated amplifiers. To attain this object some of the solutions typical of the OTL Series electronics, conceived by Giovanni Mariani, are used. The fully balanced configuration from input to output is between them. Its realization concerns the complete doubling of the electronic circuits, the only acceptable solution for the GRAAF quality standards, until now used only for very few electronics of higher cost. At the power switching, GM-50 enters in mute condition, until tubes reach the operating temperature.

The project of GM-50 integrated amplifier is based on a lay out of great simpleness, an essential rule to obtain the best sound quality. The first stage, for gain and impedance adjustment, serves the level control, in order to reach the most correct operation. Audio signal then enters a stage made of two differential circuits in cascade, with the second of them that works as the actual driver for the output stage. At this point the signals are compared each other and subject to a further level gain. Output stages are made from a push pull of KT 88 tubes, biased for A-AB Class operation. Each tube has its own automatic bias control system, a choice that allows to obtain the best performance in any operating condition. Another exclusive feature of the output stage regards the use of transformers with ground connected central end in the secondary windings. Such a solution is to have a true balanced configuration for the output stage. Also, this allows to obtain a balanced configuration for the feedback circuit. Usually, in audio amplifiers, the feedback circuit brings back to the input only a part of the output signal, in a point defined as comparison knot. With this solution GRAAF GM-50 has two comparison knots for each channel, allowing to have a balanced feedback net, more linear, precise and stable in its correction purposes. GRAAF GM-50 has a feedback rate limited to 6 dB only.

STANTON 881 S

BRIONVEGA rr226 Radio-phonograph

Since the sixties, Brionvega is synonymous with stylistic innovation,
technology, and aesthetic sense.

Make yourself comfortable, relax in your best armchair, and create the right atmosphere to express your frame of mind: it’s worth the effort. You’re about to relive a unique experience. A great protagonist is about to return, the “music of gestures” which only the Radio-phonograph Brionvega can bring into your world. This is music with the acoustics you prefer, generated by unique and studied movements, only for those like you who know how to appreciate small and infinite differences. It’s much more than music, it’s slow music: measured instants, anxious waiting that the groove interrupts as soon as the stylus touches it, setting the tone for a performance reserved for connoisseurs only.

Make room for Radio-phonograph and give yourself all the time you deserve.Even before the performance, enjoy the history originating in the seventies. Those were the years of great revolutions, and the design is evidence of this climate with its reinvented forms, content and materials. Radio-phonograph is witness to this era and its brilliance. In 1965 the Achille brothers and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni transformed the structural concept from architecture to apply it to design, planning a monument to music, conceived to become an island on which to rest all the existing instruments designed to reproduce it. Radio, record player and loudspeakers were enclosed in a unit with solid construction, as unique as a work of art, the precious fruit of artisan know-how.

The appeal and exclusiveness of the product which is entirely hand made, piece by piece, characterize the essence of Ra-dio-phonograph RR226, the evolution of the original RR126. The artisan experts are entrusted, today just like then, with the construction of the unit and loudspeakers in wood, never identical, never “perfect” since they’re not serially produced, but always splendid and unique. Just like the singular artisan stands, obtained from cast aluminium which is brushed, polished and lacquered. The new Radio-phonograph Brionvega reintroduces a model loyal to the original in its details but evolved in its technology to greatly enhance its performance.

Make yourself comfortable and focus: Radio-phonograph rekindles a world made of perfectly balanced spaces and sounds, each unique. Radio-phonograph owners stand out for their singular personality and character, just like the instrument itself. It’s enough, day after day, to have the certainty of rediscovering it in order to rediscover yourself. The experience with Radio-phonograph is an unexpected encounter, just like the love of your life, requiring not quantity of time but quality of time.

And if you’re trying it for the first time: be aware that you are about to listen, read and observe, touch or better yet graze the chapter of an entirely extraordinary history. Are you ready for this profound experience?

In 2004 SIM2 Multimedia, leader in the production and marketing of high-end videoprojection systems, acquired the Brionvega division dealing with audio products and the license to use the brand, in order to manufacture and market new products or new versions of historical Brionvega products. With its headquarters and factories located in Pordenone, SIM2 operates directly in Germany, Great Britain and United States, has a commercial office in Shangai and operates in 45 countries through specialized dealers.

Given the difference between SIM2 and Brionvega in terms of products offering, sale channels and marketing strategy, it has been necessery to establish a new company – BV – wholly owned by SIM2 but autonomous in its commercial and marketing policy, in order to manage the Brionvega products through new sale channels and a dedicated marketing strategy. The SIM2/BV strategy is to realize a range of products consistent with the past of the brand, reinterpreting and technically upgrading its successful stylistic lines, and confirming them as “cult” objects by harmoniously combining tradition and modernity, Italian-style.
