Power  Supply and "Single-Stage" Amp is now reinforced by "LED" Bias Current
The 1st stage we ventured to use high Gm, low-noise FET for head-amp at the 1st stage. In this way, we succeeded in removal of the 2nd stage to form an ideal amp having only one stage for voltage amplification.

Ample Power Supply
A slim but effective power transformer with outstanding regulation is newly designed for this high quality separates, which ensure longlasting, stabilized performance in combination with the select capacitors specially developed for audio use. Especially, the power transformer employed this time offers far better efficiency than those with the conventional EI core, which makes it possible to reproduce soild bass sound

Unconditional Stability
"Single-Stage" amp thus created totally banishes various hums inclusive of power supply noises hitherto amplifies by the 2nd stage, and at the same time ensures high stability with the highest slew rate.

LED Bias Current System
Unprecedented speedy attack and decay are given in the actual auditory feelings thanks to our unique bias current circuit employing LED's in lieu of normal diodes. In fact, the LED provides very sharp rise and decay in the statics when compared with silicon diode, and therefore ensures stable bias power supply. In addition, it is possible to cope with even an unexpected, sudden fluctuation due to its inherent high-speed response.
Furthermore, the inter-terminal voltage per LED is higher than that of diode in general, and to share the same voltage the smaller number of LED's will do in comparison with that of diode. Thus, the esponse speed as well as the decay and rise characteristics show multiple effect, providing conspicuous improvement in the auditory feelings. Unexperienced pure sound is now unveiled.

Pioneer PL-L800

Pioneer Tangential Tracking
The most accurate way of playing a record is with a tone arm that remains always tangent to the record groove, since this is how the groove was cut. Only a tangential tracking arm can do this.
A tangential tracking arm, when properly designed, engineered and manufactured, eliminates skating force and lateral tracking error, along with the excessive, often irregular record wear they cause. At Pioneer, we have successfully devolped just such a tangential tone arm. It uses a non-contact linear motor for smooth, vibration-free, lateral movement.
Compare the Pioneer tangential-tracking tone arm to competing versions. Others depend on vibration-prone motors driving rollers, worm screws or pulleys. In terms of performance, there's simply no comparison.
Four advantages of tangential-tracking tone arms
1 - Lateral tracking error, for all practical purposes, remains zero throughout play. Thus, intermodulation distortion is avoided.
2 - There is no inward skating force, making an anti-skating system unnecessary.
3 - Lateral balnced  is ideal
4 - The arm can be short, thus reducing effective mass.
 Features
Tangential Tracking:  for reduced tracking error and better defined sound
Non-contact linear motor for arm movement:  for high signal-to-noise ratio and smooth arm tracking
Rigid, short low-mass straiht PG tone arm:  tarnes resonance for better tracking.

Sony SSU-4000

 The SSU-4000
Both these speakers are 3-way bass reflex systems that encompass vurtually every technological advance currently available to speaker design. While their design is very conventional, the devotion to detail is immediately apparent in the flawless way in which they effortlessly handle the entire frequency range.

Carbocon
The woofer and mid-range speaker cones are made of "Carbocon" - a carbon fiber material that is the product of the combination of hightensil carbon fiber with a particular North European cone pulp. This blend exibitis stiffness and low mass - which is required as the parameters of an ideal piston -action sound transducer. You can hear thewell controlled tight lows and the unpercedented natural presence in mid-range reproduction.

Balanced Drive Mechanism
Mid-range response is heightened by both the Balanced Drive Mechanism and the Diffuser/Equalizer The Balanced Drive Mechanism, provides for the oversized voice coil to be mounted at the cone's  center of gravity. By placing  the coil at the point where the driving masses of the outer and inner side of the cone are balanced, the cone paper's bending motion or "doubling" is greatly reduced. The results is the faithful conversion of electrical input to audio output in a wider range of frequencies.
The mid-range and tweeter "Diffuser/Equalizer" provides for a mid to high frequency response that is highly transparent and smooth. This acoustic equalizer eliminated peaks and dips better than anything yet developed.
 Advanced Woofer Design
High quality bass response is assured by Sony's advance woofer design. The woofer design concept calls for a high elastically in suspension, so that the necessary damping of the cone's movement can be achieved. A newly developed spider made  of high quality glass epoxy is used to keep linear movement in line and prevent any unwanted vibration in other modes. You end up with clean, non-fuzzy reproduction of low frequencies. Adequate damping of the woofer cone movement is further achieved with the extra powerful magnet and T-shaped pole-piece which focuses the magnetic field on the most effective area.

Advanced Tweeter Design
The SSU-4000 feature a TitanumDome Tweeter.
This tweeter has applied to its surface a 20 micron thickness of titanium foil. Titanium was selected because it's not only strong, but light enough to move fast, which is required at high frequencies.
They are also equipped with a precision cast aluminium frame, continually adjustable level control for the mid-range and tweeter, and an intricate dual-slope L/C network to smooth blend the output of the mid-range and tweeter.
Only the highest quality materials are used throughout including aluminium, cooper, high density flakeboard, double-knit grille cloth fabric, and fine, hand-rubbed hardwood veneers.
The Sony SSU-4000 (and SSU-3000) are for those who refuse to pay for gimmickry and, more importantly, demand quality and perfection.

T.A.C. 834

Tube amplifier with great performance that nevertheless never misses out on easiness and musicality. Equiped with 4xEL34 for each channel, this whopper has enough power to reproduce any bass foundation. Over average strong tube power amplifier for price range.
Wonderfully open sound that will carry you away.
Incredibly impulsive and most splendidly arranged bass.

Looking at the facts first, the 834 is a push-pull design, using two pairs of paralleled EL34s per channel to generate a rather optimistic quoted 120W per channel. These are driven by one 12AX7 (ECC83) and one 12AU7 (ECC82) valve per channel.
The output valves operate in fixed bias mode which, confusingly, means bias needs to be adjusted via preset potentiometers that are accessible in the top panel, in conjunction with a multimeter used on the appropriate test points beside each valve. Input count is four at line level but there is no tape loop facility, and the hefty output transformers have dedicated taps for four and eight Ohms.
Finished in a very pleasing shiny chrome, offset by matt black transformer covers, control knobs and valve covers, the T.A.C. 834 is a very smart device and is sturdily built, as shown by its 25kg weight. Fortunately, it is quite compact, measuring 420x210x270mm (WxHxD), and so it does not consume a vast amount of rack space. Duly sited and warmed up, I was ready to see if it would work any magic on my ears.
