What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Luxman MS-11

Luxman Loudspeaker System. Two-way bookshelf type, featureing Multi-Vent system.
Light and rigid aramid fibre woofer offers superb transient response and excellent resolution. Polyester-cloth dome type tweeter ensures crystal highs with wide dispersion Multi-Vent Controlled System for dynamic bass reproduction.
The Multi-Vent scheme is used as the design of this enclosure.
On the basis of the enclosure of closed mold, this opened two or more small holes in the front surface of a box, is a scheme which reduces the air pressure in a box in the suitable status, and has acquired the strength of a sealing scheme and a bass-reflex scheme. By this, it was lost that it is under many pressures to a cone, and the outstanding property has been acquired.
High damped hard particle board is adopted as the quality of the material, inside, the sound-absorption effect is high, the super seal which can suppress an oscillation of particle board effectively is stuck, and the unnecessary radiation from an enclosure is reduced.

Technics ST-7300

 FM/AM Stereo Tuner
There are many high fidelity enthusiasts who seek the quality and control features of a separate tuner, but are put off by the prohibitive prices of "separates". For them, the ST-7300 is the perfect answer. It yields a flat frequency response curve from 20 Hz to 15 kHz, with a low 0,4% total harmonic distortion in stereo, excellent sensitivity and selectivity figures, and a 75 dB signal-to-noise ratio. The ST-7300 demonstarates the high degree of performance that can be enjoyed at a very reasonable cost.
Test Signal Generator for Perfect FM Recording Level Settings
Accurate level adjustments are critical in FM taping. The St-7300 eliminates the guess work with a built-in test signal generator whose output corresponds to 50% of FM signal modulation. Simply switch on the 440 Hz pure sine wave generator and set the tape recording level.

Direct Antenna Connections
The antenna terminals are connected directly to the circuit board of the front end, without intervening wires. The results are an extremely good sensitivity, and excellent spurious and image rejection.

3-Ganged Capacitor FM Front End
The high S/N ratio and sensitivity of the ST-7300 are due in large measure to the FET and 3-ganged capacitor used in the first stage of the front end.
Flat frequency Response Over  A Wide Spectrum, 20 Hz - 15 kHz (+0,2 dB, -1,0 dB)
The remarkably flat frequency response curve over a broad range of frequencies is made possible by use of Chebyshev-characteristic low pass filters. These filters also attenuate the 19 kHz pilot signal to a level at which it will not interfere with the audio signal.

Flat Group Delay Filters in IF Stage
Three 2-element flat group delay ceramic filters in IF stage contribute to the tuner's excellent sound fidelity as evidenced by a total harmonic distortion of 0,4% (stereo), and S/N of 75 dB. Five differential amplifiers give high gain and an impressive selectivity rating of 75 dB (IHF).

Two Tuning Meters
The zero-center meter indicates exact center of channel tuning on FM. The signal strength meter works for both AM and FM. When used together, these two meters make FM tuning a simple matter. Quadrature demodulation by an integrated circuit assures meter linearity right up to the 60 dB (1000 µV) input level.
 PLL  FM  MPX  Decoder
A phase locked loop provides the 38 kHz time switching signal by which the two channels of FM MPX broadcasts are decoded. The phase comparator and feedback techniques employed interlock both frequency and phase of input and output signals to provide clearly defined channel separation despite temperature and humidity changes.

Sensitivity 1.0 µV at S/N 20 dB (75 ohms)
The ST-7300 offers a truly amazing sensitivity; full 1.0 µV at ±40 kHz deviation. Even more important, 46 dB quieting level can be reached with a signal strength of 19 µV (75 Ω) in stereo.
When using an outdoor antenna with the ST-7300 a coaxial cable (75 Ω impedance) is recommended.

Complete with all necessary controls, and an advanced multiplex circuit for wide stereo separation, the TX-6200 is ideal as the first for your investment of stereo components. Its cost/performance versatility alone makes it one of the great stereo values of the year.

FM Front end with junction type FET

The front end of any tuner is the key factor for receiving weak station signals while offering stability against excessively strong signals suppressing distortion and jamming in the TX-6200 Pioneer has employed a frequency-linear three-gang variable capacitor and low-noise junction type FET in its front end. These features add up to outstanding IHF sensitivity of 1,9 µV as well as image rejection of more than 60 dB and spurious rejection of more than 75 dB. These performance characteristics mean that the unit is more than sufficient to receive very weak signals, while providing necessary stability and excellent rejection characteristics.

Exclusive FM IC with 5-stage limiter

A new and exclusive FM IC is employed in the IF section of the TX-6200. this IC forms the five-stage limiter to ensura extremely stable limiter characteristics against any kind of input level fluctuations. At the same time the circuitry improves capture ratio AM suppression and Signal-to-Noise Ratio. Another feature the quadrature detector adopted in this FM IF section ensures linearity over the wide frequency bandwidth while suppressing distortion to an inaudible level.

Phase-linear ceramic filters

Two phase -linear ceramic filters are utilized in the IF section to assure excellent phase characteristics over the wide frequency bandwidth. Each filter has two elements making for a total of four ceramic filter element and leading to an IHF selectivity figure of more than 60 dB. What this means is that the TX-6200 sharply separates the adjacent stations, especially in areas of multiple station signals.

MPX circuit with high performance IC

A high-performance IC is also adopted in the double-balanced differential demodulator in the tuner's MPX circuit leading to wide separation of more than 40 dB at 1 kHz and more than 30 dB over the 50 to 10 kHz range. An additional sharp low-pass filter is employed for suppressing carrier leakage.

Teac AT-100

 TEAC AT-100
New Multiplex Channel Separation Circuitry
New low level multiplex sensitivity provides clean clear stereo operation with only a 10 µV input. The all new multiplex amplifier provides complete channel separation (40 dB at 1 kHz, 100% modulation) even where stations are closely located in frequency and physical proximity to each other.

Sharply Selective-Stable IF circuitry
The FM IF stages of the AT-100 incorporate 6 element ceramic filters for precise exact bandpass shaping. Sharply selective, unaffected by humidity or aging, they provide many years of trouble free operation.

Noise Free FM Receprion
A total of 10 limiting stages are employed in the AT-100 (4 diode limiter stages,  6 transistor limiter stages) to provide  complete freedom from pulse noise reception from auto ignition systems, electrical appliances and atmospheric disturbances.

Advanced Solid State Front End
A dual gate MOS type field effect transistor and a junction type FET are used in the FM RF section to provide maximum gain and sensitivity, high selectivity and the maximum in interference rejection.

Precision Tuning System
The AT-100 tuner employs a 4 gang, linear graduation tuning condenser coupled to a weighted tuning system. The dial features a linear tuning display across the entire tuning band. Independent signal strength and channel center tuning meters make precision tuning remarkably simple.

Interstation Noise Muting
An extremely sensitive muting circuit completely eliminates interstation (white) noise when tuning between stations. Switch controlled from the front panel, the muting circuit can be disabled for tuning extremely weak (fringe area) stations.

Dual Output Facility
The AT-100 is provided with both fixed and variable output level jakc thus is compatible with any currently available amplifying system.

Remarkable Performance Specifications - Moderate Cost.
The overall sensitivity and selectivity of this superb tuner provide clear distortion free FM stereo reception even if fringe areas at a surprisingly moderate cost.

Regulated Stable Power Supply
A completely solid state, closely regulated power supply contributes to the stability of operation of the At-100. prevents station drift even in areas where line voltage is not constant.
