What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Phase Linear 8000 turntable

Model 8000 Series Two Linear Motor Turntable

No other turntable can match the Phase 8000, because no other turntable has such advanced motors. You can't buy a quieter turntable. Or one with as low wow and flutter. Or one that tracks better.

The Phase 8000's tangential tracking tone arm keeps the stylus in perfect 90° tangent with the grooves. It's the same way the master disc was cut, so the motion of your stylus is identical to the cutterhead stylus. There's absolutely no tracking distortion. No crosstalk. No skating force that can actually re-cut your grooves.

New Linear Motor Eliminates Mechanical Linkage

Other manufacturers have tried to move tangential tone arms with worm gears. Belts. Rollers. All with the same sad result; Mechanical connections pass on the noise and vibration of the motor. The Phase 8000 solves this problem with an ingenious Linear Motor. The tone arm base is a permanently magnetized armature that glides along guide bars above electro-magnetic coils. The arm moves by direct induction - not mechanical connection. So there's virtually no noise. Inside the tonearm, an opto-electric detector cell senses the slightest tracking error, and instantly sends correcting signals to keep the arm on track.

Phase Linear Model 400

Solid State Stereo Amplifier Model 400 has gained an international reputation as the world's mos reliable and most accurate high powered amplifier. It puts out 201 watts per channel which enables it to drive all the better bookshelf speakers as well as the most exotic loudspeakers available. It also rates better than any amplifier in its power range on a dollar per watt basis.
If you contemplating the purchase of high powered amplifier, you should audition the Phase Linear 400.

Circuit description
The Phase Linear amplifier consists of two direct coupled designed linear power amplifiers combined to form a single, dual channel unit capable of extremely high power output. The output stages employ twelve high current, high voltage, triple-diffused silicon output transistors arranged in a quasi-complimentary format and biased for class AB operation. The output stages are driven by two stages of Darlington connected current amplifiers, which in turn are driven by a predriver voltage amplifying stage swinging the full supply voltage.
The upper output transistors are driven into saturation by a constant current source and the lower transistors are driven by the predriver. Bias control is accomplished by a bias regulator consisting of two voltage reference diodes, a regulator transistor, and temperature compensating circuitry. The low level stage consists of a differential pair which provides voltage gain and level shifting to accommodate the predriver requirements.
 The patanted protective circuits consist of four small analog to digital computers,each computer monitoring the operating conditions of four output transistors. Output current,voltage, energy, time raate of current and voltage change, and common mode conduction are monitored continuously during amplifier operation. If the value any one, or the sum value of more than one or all of these quantities exceeds a safe stress level for the transistors, the computer instructs a "disconed circuit" to instantly shut down the amplifier.

Phase Linear Model 2000

 The Model 2000 Stereo pre-amplifier offers excellent specifications, outstanding sonic performance and a unique "Ambience Circuit" designed to retrieve out-of-phase signals while using the 2000 in a stereo mode. Prior to this time one had to add another amplifier and an additional set of speakers to utilize such a system, but this is not true of the ambience system in the 2000. When listening to a record played through the 2000 with the ambience circuit on, you will hear instruments that would not be audible on our preamps. The music is on the record out of phase and the 2000 corrects that problem

"In measurements made at CBS, the Model 2000 proved itself a strong performer. In neither channel did output clipping occur at less than 12,2 volts, whether driven singly or together. At an output level of 2 volts (more than enough for full output from most power amps), harmonic distortion was less than 0,02% in all cases - well below Phase Linear's 0,1% spec. And if we ignore as inaudible all harmonics above 20 kHz, harmonic distortion is  no more than 0,0066%"
"The Model 2000 is as super in the listening as it is smooth in the handling. Once one has become used to the controls, they are convenient to operate and satisfying to touch. The extra flexibility in the tone controls (the separate knobs for each channel, as well as the variable turnover points) delivers worthwhile options."

Phase Linear Model 200

 The Phase Linear Model 200 Stereo Amplifier is the best amplifier you can purchase for medium power handling applications. At 105 watts per channel, the 200 complements all high quality bookshelf speakers in the efficient to medium efficiency range. The 200 has enough power to eliminate clipping with most efficient speaker system as well as many inefficient systems
The Phase 200 has a Velocity Feedback switch which allows for a Reduction in current feedback. This results in a lowering of the damping ratio and this has been a recommendation made by various speaker manufacturers. In numerous speaker systems this reduction in feedback will provide a warmer, more mellow sound.

Phase Linear Model 5000

 The Phase Linear Model 5000 FM Tuner fully compliments our line of separate components both in appearance and philosophy.
Until now, separate component manufactures have put most of their design emphasis into reaching the theoretical limits of FM receiving. Few consumers, however, can actually benefit from these technical achievements simply because the broadcast itself is too mediocre. A cure for that problem is what we have added to our tuner.
The Phase Linear 5000 combines excellent receiving capabilities along with a unique linear expansion circuit which compensates for the problems associated with FM broadcast. Consequently, the 5000 FM Tuner delivers dynamic range and sonic quality audibly beyond that which has been available.

 Features:
Large slide rule dial;
Variable muting 2 µV to 100 µV;
Fixed and variable outputs;
