What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Teac W-6000R cassette deck

Double Cassette Deck

Acculing Rotating Head Systems for Quick Reverse

Precision rotating hard-permalloy record/playback head systems for both transports assure precise azimuth accuracy and excellent durability in the W-6000R, speedy auto-reverse operation is made possible through the use of a photodetector equipped with quick reverse mechanisms. Ituses a beam of infrared light to detect the beginning of the leader and switches the direction of tape travel in a flash, eliminating annoying interruptions between tape sides.

Cassette Stabilizer

Vibrations in the cassette shell are a common source of modulation noise. The W-6000R employs a special stabilizer system to prevent these vibrations at their source. It clamps the cassette firmly in place, increasing the effective mass of the cassette shell for total vibration damping. A special design further prevents the ratting that sometimes detracts from the effectiveness of conventional cassette support systems.

Automatic Fade in Out

You can fade a song in from the intro and slowly out at the end for a professional sounding effect. And you can achieve this with the touch of a single button, because a motor-driven level control automatically adjusts the recording level. Fede in begins with record start, and after Fade Out the deck enters the Pause mode, so you;ll have smooth transitions between songs. By using this function along with mic mixing you can make great sounding DJ tapes.

Pitch Control for Fine Sound Tuning

Sometimes when playing a tape recorded on a different deck, the pitch can be slightly off. Since this naturally affects sound quality, the W-6000R's deck i offers a pitch control that is adjustable by ±6%. This delicate control ensures that you can enjoy all tapes as they should be heard.

Teac W-800R cassette deck

Double Auto Reverse Cassette Deck

The W-800R is composed of two fully functional auto-reverse decks in a single chassis. This format offers a number of advantages, the first of which is tape dubbing - set one transport to play and the other to record and copy tapes at normal or high speed. You can also use both transports for recording, either at the same time or one followed by the other for taping long musical works. And for extended playback time, both decks feature auto-reverse as well as repeat of one side, two sides or both sides of both cassettes. Since each transport has its own IC logic control system, tape transport functions and simultaneous starting are smooth and precise.

Dolby HX Pro Headroom Extension

Working in tandem with Dolby B or C noise reduction, HX Pro provides better performance than either system could on its own. It lowers the bias level at high-frequency peaks, preventing "self-biasing" which would otherwise occur, for a widend recordable dynamic range. Dolby HX Pro operates only during recording, so you can play tapes recorded with it on any standard deck, even one not equipped with HX Pro.

Teac A-170 cassette deck

The A-170 is the basic cassette machine. But it's basic only when compared to more advanced Teac models. Our entire line is extremely sophisticated, offering quality and features not generally found on less expensive equipment. Every Teac deck must pass a rigid quality control check before leaving the factory, and reliability is almost synonymous with the Teac name. Additional features make some of our products more expensive. But none are more rugged or reliable than the A-170.

The Teac tape transport
The A-170 features a new transport system utilizing many of the ultra-precise parts and design innovations found in our more costly decks. Included among these are the special Teac capstan driveshaft, ground to a tolerance of 1 micron or less. And an all new DC Servo Controlled Motor, with amazing sspeed accuracy. These transport features provide smooth precise tape motion, and wow and flutter is kept to an insignificant 0,09%

High density ferrite heads.
The A-170 features High Density Ferrite heads which are extremely hard and offer a greatly extended life. Teac heads are specially designed to permit distortion-free recording up through the highest audio frequencies.

Expanded range level meters
The key to good recordings is the proper setting of the input levels. The  large, bright meters on thhe A-170 make this easy. The meters are merked to +3 VU but needle range extends to +6 VU to facilitate adjustment for very strong signals and to allow higher than normal recording levels.

Built-in Dolby NR.
The A-170 includes the same Dolby Noise Reduction circuitry found in our top-of-the-line A-450. it reduces tape  hiss and can improve your Signal-to-Noise by as much as 10 dB over 5 kHz. You'll probably use it all the time.

Other important features
Two position switches let you adjust Bias and EQ for either Ferric Oxide or Chromium Dioxide tapes, for maximum performance from both.
The Mic/Line switch allows you to select between "Live" recording from microphones or recording from other audio sources, and cuts in a built-in pre-ampifier  when microphones are used.
Built into the A-170's transport system is an advanced Auto-Stop mechanism. Whenever the end of the tape is reached, the transport automatically returns to the Stop mode.

TEAC A-X5030

Integrated Stereo Amplifier A-X5030
Features:
High-power drive capability
Switchable subsonic filter
-20 dB muting switch
Loudness compensation switch
Center-detented bass and treble tone controls
Balance control
Dual speaker terminals and independent speaker A/B switches
Heavy-duty binding-post speaker terminals
Large insulator feet.

Another example of TEAC dedication to delivering the finest possible quality in these amplifiers is the fact that each unit is individually calibrated for optimum performance.
In the A-X series amplifiers, the output stage idling current is determined by a precision trimmer rather than the usual fixed resistor. This is adjusted to provide optimum idling current - and therefore an absolute minimum of crossover distortion - during the final testing and inspection stage. You can rest assured that the amplifier you receive is fine-tuned to deliver super sound quality.
All-Mechanical Short-Path Signal Switching
Many modern amplifiers use semiconductor switches to control signal routing. These like any other electronic part, can degrade signal quality. TEAC has used only top-quality mechanical switches ensuring reliable, distortion-free signal routing. Furthermore, switches handling low level signals are positioned as close as possible to the corresponding rear-panel terminals to minimize the signal path length and are remotely controlled via the panel knobs. This means that noise and interference pickup is minimized for extra signal purity.
 Source Direct Switch
When you want an extra margin of signal purity, the Source Direct switch can be engaged to bypass the tone, balance, loudness controls, muting and subsonic filter controls, giving you the shortest, most direct signal path possible for all input sources.
Versatile Input and recording Capability
Independent input and Rec selectors let you monitor one source while simultaneously recording another. The Rec selector also offers tape-to-tape recording capability. The A-X5030 accept of 6 base input sources like; phono, tuner, CD, tape 1/DAT, tape 2, AUX, and additionally features Adapter/Tape 3 terminals that can be used to connect a third tape deck or an external adapter such as a graphic equalizer or surround processor. The A-X5030 also features a high-performance internal MC phono cartridge head amplifier and an MM/MC phono selector switch.
Heavy-Duty Binding-Post Speaker Terminals
Since speaker cables can have a significant effect on the sound, the TEAC amplifiers are equipped with heavy-duty binding-post terminals that will easily accept high-quality speaker cables while providing solid reliable contact.
