What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Klipsch Quartet

Destined to become yet another classic bearing the Klipsch name, the new Klipsch Quartet embodies time-tested design principles and dawing technology to give you a speaker system of the highest sonic integrity.
The Quartet's new hybrid tractrix midrange horn is uncanny in its ability to deliver the countless inner details of complex musical pasages. Designed with computer-modeling techniques, the Quartet woofer is voice-coil-vented to increase power handling and bass output while decreasing distortion.
The classically-styled cabinet of the Quartet is hand-finished in your choice of genuine wood veneers to give you a system as beautiful as the music it reproduces. The Quartet reflects your good taste in music and the art. Of its reproduction.
The Quartet also takes advantage of the Tractrix midrange horn and recreates music with stunning clarity. Features include:
A high frequency horn/driver assembly - provides sparkling detail to your favorite music.
The new Tractrix midrange horn - uncanny in its ability to isolate and deliver  the countless inner details of complex musical passages.
The 12" passive radiator and 10" active woofer - this rear-mounted passive radiator, coupled with a new vented voice-coil woofer, helps create exceptionally clean, tight bass response.
A - This Klipsch-designed high frequency horn/driver assembly assists the Quartet in providing sparkling detail to your music. The stereo image is so clear and sharply focused, you'll feel as if you can touch the music while it is touching you.
B -  A tractrix hybrid design, the midrange horn of the Quartet delivers exceptionally smooth polar coverage in both horizontal and vertical planes to give you a stereo image now of greater width, depth, and stability. This unique horn is uncanny in its ability to isolare and deliver the countless inner details of the most complex musical passages.
C - The Quartet's powerful, well-extended bass is due in part to this rear-mounted sub-bass radiator. Measuring 12" (305 mm) in diameter, the sub-bass radiator operates on acoustic pressure generated by the woofer for greater bass output and extension.
D - using computer-modeling techniques , Klipsch engineers developed a new voice-coil-vented woofer for exceptionally clean, tight bass, and unparalleled reliability. The new woofer also provides higher output and, with the new sub-bass radiator, lowers distortion.
E - The Quartet's cabinet provides immediate evidence of construction quality. This cabinet is meticulously crafted from your choice of genuine wood veneers. Each pair is matched for color and grain structure of the wood. One tiny flaw and the entire pair is destroyed.
F - Yet another example of efficient design principles at Klipsch, the input panel of the Quartet is built in conjunction with the crossover network of the system. Thus, incoming electrical information is immediately sent to the proper driver without undue and unnecessary wiring.
G - A built-in riser base lifts the Quartet to the proper height for the optimum stereo effect, yet keeps the system coupled to the floor for maximum bass response.

Klipsch La Scala

Theatre and Commercial System - designed for theatre use, La Scala is a wide-range loudspeaker, adaptable for custom installation or as a portable unit for professional musicians.
La Scala may be used in a corner or along a wall. It is a full 3-way horn system of the most compact size currently available, yet is in no way a compromise of sound quality.
La Scala employs the same drive components as the Klipschorn. The midrange horn is slightly smaller than that of the Klipschorn and teh woofer is shorter and is folded into two paths instead of three as in the Klipschorn.
Only Klipsch speakers and Klipsch 3-speaker master stereo system meet the 8 cardinal points of reperoduction:
1.Freedom from distrortion. Minimum distortion requires small amplitudes of air mass movements, even at peak transisnt power output. Bass diaphragm motion should not eceed 1/16 inch. Corner placement reduces distortion three fourths.
2.Optimium size of speaker. Large enough to reproduce the lowest audible bass tone at peak transient power output without distortion; not so large as to produce a separation of bass and treble events. Corner placement increases effective size of speaker 4 times.
3.Freedom from rattles.
4.Freedom from shadows. Obstructions between high frequency speaker and listeners can not be tolerated - treble wave-lengths do not turn corners.
5.Freedom from cavities. The space under a speaker box formed by mounting it on legs can destroy the bottom octave of response and deteriorate the next 2 octaves.
6.Adequate spacing for stereo. In a 14 x 17 foot room, for example, the 17-foot wall is apt to be best for the stereo speaker array.
7.Accurate spatial values. Ability to localize the virtual sound sources in their original spatial relationships requires 3 widely spaced speakers, regardless of size or type, retention of this quality over a wide listening area requires toe-in of the flanking speakers.
8.Flanking speakers toed-in. Such toe-in is naturally provided by corner speakers. The effect is to reduce shift of the virtual sound source for different listener locations. This is the only way to achieve a wide area for listening.

Klipsch - Corner Horn Loudspeaker Systems

The KLIPSCH LINE OF SOUND REPRODUCERS has been developed by Paul W. Klipsch to offer the ultimate in fidelity of sound reproduction. Employing the corner horn principle, they achieve the smoothest possible response over an exceptionally wide range with a negligible amount of distortion.
Each Klipsch system is tested and its components correctly balanced before leaving the factory.
The Klipschorn, a full-range, three-way reproducer utilizing a folded horn for the bass, and designed for corner placement so that the adjacent walls serve as extensions of the horn. Dimensions vary slightly according to furniture style, the model Fig. 2 was the "Style B.", which is 52 inches high, 31 1/4 inches across, and 28 1/4 inches deep (that is, from to the apex of the rear angle).

Designed for discriminating listeners, the KLIPSCHORN system is the acknowledged standard of all loudspeakers - the choice of famous conductors and recording artists.
3-WAY CORNER HORN DESIGN, comprissing three integrated exponential horns.
FREQUENCY RANGE, 25 cycles to over 22,000 with substantial efficiency from 30 cycles to over 16,000 cycles.
STYLES in mahogany, prima vera or birch. Utility models in unfinished fir.

Klipsch Belle (1971)

The Klipsch Belle was originally introduced in 1971 and today it is considered the queen of the Klipsch heritage line. It is the only speaker system Paul Klipsch designed with a woman in mind, his wife whom he named the speaker after. As the story goes, Belle Klipsch wanted a less obtrusive, pleasing to the eye speaker system for their living room, yet without compromising the trademark Klipsch sound. Starting with the enclosure design of the famed La Scala system, Paul Klipsch tweaked the proportions of cabinet to give it a more balanced look and “beautified” it with grille cloth and high-grade veneer. Of course Belle couldn’t have been more pleased with the results, not to mention the thousands of wives thereafter. The Belle has a truly timeless esthetic appeal that seems to get even better with age.
While the Belle Klipsch has been called the most beautiful heritage speaker system of all time, not many were sold. It is pretty much sonically identical to the La Scala system, which was priced approximately 55% lower (85% lower if you settled for a pair of unfinished Scalas) then the Belles. Because the buying demographic of Klipsch speakers was predominantly men, most of which weren’t concerned with style, you can understand why paying a premium for beauty was not appealing. Ironically, today, of all the Klipsch Heritage systems, the Belle has seen the biggest increase in value because there are relatively so few around.

K-77-M High Frequency Driver/Horn
The famed compression driver /horn tweeter gives you vivid, sparkling high frequency detail beyond the range of audibility. You hear a sharply focused, lifelike stereo image. Dynamic range is breathtaking. Distortion is nowhere to be heard.
K-55-V Alnico Mid Range Driver/Exponential Metal Horn
Midrange frequencies are the most critical to your enjoyment of music. In the Belle, these frequencies are capably handled by a powerful, smooth sounding compression driver/horn assembly. This midrange driver assists the Belle, in delivering an amazing 104 decibels of sound pressure when operating on just one watt of input power. This results in awesome dynamic range and distortion free response.
K-33 Woofer
The K-33 fully takes advantage of it folded bass horn cabinet. Deep full-bodied bass that is not only heard but felt!
Type AA Crossover
The passive crossover network of the Belle, is a vital component to the overall performance of the system and is a classic example of the KLIPSCH dedication to engineering excellence. This network takes incoming electrical information and assigns it to the proper driver to achieve the smoothest frequency response.

Unmatched Craftsmanship
KLIPSCH cabinetry is the immediately evident indicator of the construction quality that has made KLIPSCH famous. Meticulously crafted by the finest craftsman in the business. Each pair is precisely matched for color and grain structure. One tiny flaw in one speaker and the pair is destroyed. The cabinet of the Belle, is also critical to its bass response since a large part of this cabinet forms the woofer horn.
Belle Folded Bass Horn
The Belle’s folded horn woofer has long been the marvel of audio enthusiasts and engineers alike. The horn has always been the most efficient means of reproducing sound. But for deep bass, a horn of considerable length is required. KLIPSCH long ago solved this problem by "folding" a horn into a more compact size, resulting in unmatched bass reproduction.
