What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Kenwood KA-3344

The rich, treasure-laden sound of 4-channel stereo is a listening treat you should not miss. Kenwood's KA-3344 multi-purpose amplifier makes 4-channel reproduction all yours in an easy-to-operate instrument. That's beacuse the KA-3344 is especially-designed to reproduce all 4-channel sources-discrete type, matrix type and quasi-4-channel program sources. Rear channel speaker systems are driven by the stereo main-amplifier. Still another receiver or pre-main amplifier controls front channel speaker systems. Built-in encoder circuitry helps to reprint matrix 4-channel tape from discrete 4-channel tape. Booming, ultra-sensitive 4-channel effects are then reproduced through Kenwood-sophisticated decoder circuitry. Throughout, the ultimate in all-purpose amplifier uses.
 Special Features
4-Channel Reproduction
The KA-3344 includes the newly developed Kenwood method 4-channel matrix circuitry and stereo main amplifier. By adding KA-3344 and a pair of speaker system for rear channel to the ordinary stereo system, the surround sonic 4-channel reproduction is perfectly enjoyable from all kinds of program sources - the encorded 2-channel sources, the ordinary 2-channel sources and of course discrete type 4-channel sources.

2-Channel Tape from 4-Channel Tape
The built-in encorder circuitry enables to reprint matrix 4-channel (usable as an ordinary 2-channel too) tape from discrete type 4-channel tape. It can be reproduced with satisfactory 4-channel effect through KA-3344's decorder circuitry.

Sound Illumination
By the exclusive Color Sound System, the sound performance can be monitored and enjoyed through the illuminating color varieties. The whole frequency range is electronically divided into 3 parts and is lighted colorfully. The suitable operating point can be settled by the Level Control attached, and can be cancelled when it is unnecessary.

Trio Kenwood HS-1

 Trio Kenwood Stereo Phone HS-1
Stereo phones may all seem to look alike except that some may appear sleeker, perhaps, than others. But here the similarity ends as far as the HS-1 is concerned, and we urge you to prove this to yourself.
Notice how the soft, form-fitting cushions cradle your ears so comfortably, how easily they're adjustable to fit you perfectly, how completely they shut out all external noise.
Compare the marvelous reproduction quality of its exclusive "Mylar-Cone" speakers.  That sound is a true, flat response from 20 to 19,000 Hz covering thr entire sound spectrum. Moreover, its free from reproduction resonance peaks, and this means a lot to your ears for it eliminates ear fatigue. That's why we say "your ears will notice the difference",but only if you'll give them the chance to hear the HS-1
 Special Features
An Ideal Stereo Phone
The HS-1 is the stereo phone for the most discerning audiophile. Its outstanding features …
Superb sound reproduction quality.
Soft,snug-fit, lightweight comfort.
Sleek, smart-looking style.
… are the result of careful attention to details in research and design, and the utilization of the most advanced engineering techniques.
 Special Phone Cord
The HS-1 is equipped with a long, 3 meter phone cord since it is also suitable for professional use because of its outstanding performance quality.

Special Kenwood Speakers
Mylar-Cone speakers are easy on your ears because they feature an exclusive Kenwood damping scheme which eliminates resonant reproduction peaks. The flat impedance and response charcteristics shown are your assurance of true, full range reproduction.
