What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Genesis 201 loudspeakers

The Genesis 201 loudspeaker system was created for those discriminating music lovers who know no compromises. This state of the art. System is designed to reproduce music at live listening levels with virtually no restrictions on dynamic range, frequency response or imaging capabilities.

The Genesis 201 is a floor standing four-piece loudspeaker system featuring a pair of dipole midrange/tweeter panel consists of a 48-inch midrange ribbon, twelve front-firing and three rear-firing 1-inch planar ribbon tweeters. Each woofer tower contains eight cast-frame, metal-cone woofers driven by an 800-watt remote controlled Servo Amplifier. All the transducers in this unique, state-of-the-art. System have been designed to be a nearly perfect piston within its useable frequency band.

The 1-inch planar ribbon tweeter described by the audiophile press as possibly "the world's best", is hand-crafted from an 0,0005inch thick laminated membrane of aluminum and Kapton. The extremely low mass of the tweeter's diaphragm means that this driver has a frequency response considerably beyond the human hearing range.

Genesis 201's midrange transducer is single-piece, planar ribbon driver constructed of a very thin layer of aluminum laminated to a 0,001 inch thick Mylar substrate and surrounded by over 24 feet of barium ferrite magnets.

An active 1600-watt servo feedback system, employing accelerometers as sensors, lowers the woofer distortion by a factor of 10 compared to its open loop response. This results in the 201 low frequency system having lower distortion and laster response time than conventional designs.

Genesis I 60 amplifier

Introduction

The Genesis Integrated 60-Watt Stereo Valve Amplifier uses proprietary technology, high quality components, and state-of-the-art vacuum tube topology to deliver sonic performance rivaling other amplifiers costing much more. The design objectives of this product are to:

1. Deliver musically accurate amplification,

2. Provide a vacuum tube amplifier that would approach the reliability and ease of use of solid state amplifiers,

3. Provide an affordable vacuum tube amplifier that would be able to drive the Genesis family of loudspeakers.

A valve amplifier matched with an appropriate loudspeaker can produce a sound that we can only call magic. The hard, brittle, and edgy presentation of many transistor amplifiers is contrasted with the rich, lush and silky sound of the tube amplifier. Often, tube amplifiers offer much better imaging and sound stage presentation compared to an equivalently priced solid-state amplifier. It is more musical, and the performance seems almost alive. A properly designed and built tube amplifier, such as the Genesis I60, is capable of reproducing midrange and treble with crystal clear definition – the

sound can only be described as smooth and silky, and musically accurate with the right timbre and harmonics.

As for the bass, the I60 is designed to maintain tight control over the bass, and deliver the powerful punch and dynamics at the low end with the solidity and weight of transistor amplifiers.

Design and Construction

The I60 is an integrated amplifier with four high-quality selectable inputs and a discrete resistor ladder potentiometer as a volume control. It uses a single 12AX7 per channel as the main voltage gain stage, with 6SN7’s as the driver stage. No ordinary 6SN7’s for the I60 – military spec 6N8P are selected for their reliability and durability, and then hand-picked for linearity and low noise. Two sets of matched-pair KT88 power output valves are used to deliver a very conservative 60 watts RMS per channel.

While the I60 is developed as a value-priced product, quality has not been scaled down. Extensive listening tests were done throughout the design process, and expensive components were used where they were appropriate. Custom-made military-spec paper-in-oil capacitors with aluminum cans are selectively used; a hand-built discrete resistor stepped attenuator is employed as a volume control; low-noise gold plated militaryspec ceramic tube sockets are used throughout.

Very little feedback is used – just enough to make the amplifier unconditionally stable. Not the excessive amount that is sometimes employed to make amplifiers measure better at the expense of musicality.

During construction, all components are handselected and precisely matched. The output transformers and power transformer are laboriously hand wound to precise specifications tailored to the circuit and tubes used. Point-to-point wiring using solid-core silver wire is used in the entire signal path. This reduces the resistance, capacitance and  nductance normally associated with ordinary printed circuit boards.

The only PCBs you see in the “guts” above are the boards associated with biasing of the power tubes, and the soft-start lectronics. The output transformers are custom designed and hand-wound with a core of grain-oriented silicon steel specifically for the output tubes used. Two output taps are provided on the secondary – 4ohm and 8ohm – with the 4

Ohm tap specifically tuned using Genesis loudspeakers. Each amplifier is extensively inspected and tested at every stage of manufacturing. It is also allowed to burn-in before the valves are biased and calibrated, and then run-in for 100 hours before finally being electronically tested prior to packing for shipment. Hence, it should come to you ready to use straight out of the box.

The Genesis Integrated 60-Watt Valve (or vacuum tube) Amplifier is a limited-edition product that was created as proof of concept that a welldesigned, well-executed, value-priced amplifier will be able to drive any Genesis loudspeaker with ease and authority.

The transparency, detail retrieval, dynamics, and wide frequency extension of Genesis loudspeakers place great demands on the quality of amplification. Because of our emphasis on absolute fidelity™ above all else, the speakers do represent a difficult, but not impossible load for an amplifier to drive. The I60 was created as a partner to a pair of Genesis loudspeakers, and as a result, it has the quality of amplifiers costing much more.

The I60, together with a pair of Genesis loudspeakers, will give your entire music collection a whole new life. In a well set-up system, it is capable of transporting the musical performance into your room. The hiss and hum normally associated with vacuum tubes are completely absent, while retaining the richness and rightness of the best of this genre of amplifiers.

While developing a value-priced product, quality has not been scaled down. Hand-selected, precisely matched components are used throughout: custom-made military-spec paper-in-oil capacitors with aluminum cans are

selectively used; tantalum-film resistors are used on a hand-built discrete resistor potentiometer as a volume control. The output transformers and power transformer are laboriously hand wound to precise specifications

tailored to the circuit and tubes used. Point-to-point wiring using solid-core silver wire is used in the entire signal path. This reduces the resistance, capacitance and inductance normally associated with ordinary printed circuit boards. Each and every unit is first burned-in on the test bench, and then run in for over 100 hours before final test and packaging.

Very little feedback is used – just enough to make the amplifier unconditionally stable. Not the excessive amount usually employed to make amplifiers measure better at the expense of musicality. The result of all this obsessive attention to detail is a fabulously musical amplifier capable of driving almost any loudspeaker in the world.

Genesis 500 loudspeakers

Genesis 500
The Genesis 500 employs our newest innovations, delivering live listening levels across the entire frequency spectrum with spatially accurate imaging, and yet, is only 44 inches tall and 11 inches wide. The cabinetry is hand crafted with compound miters and covered in beautiful rosewood veneers and hardwoods. This combinataion yields a visually stunning finished product. but close your eyes so you can focus on the full impact of a symphony orchestra in your living room.

Like all Genesis loudspeakers, the 500's employ a dipole design (from the mid-bass couplers on up) producing sound from both the front and the rear, one out of phase with the other. While the advantages of dipole design are many, the two main benefits are ease of placement in the room and more natural, spacious soun reproduction.
Dipoles achieve their superior performance because they create a radiation pattern where the energy emanating to the sides of the speakers is nearly non-existent. With very little acoustical energy reaching the side walls of your living room, not only is placement of the speakers easy but, remarkably, the listener is able to experience the music unencumbered by the normal room interactions which plague most other speaker systems.

The Genesis 500 loudspeakers utilize some of our newest and most sophisticated technology. Set within each multifaceted cabinet are two 1-inch planar ribbon tweeters, one of our  newly-minted 5-inch titanium cone midrange modules, a 6-inch aluminium cone mid-bass coupler, and three 8-inch metal cone servo woofers driven by an integral G-SAT 500-watt servo-controlled switching power amplifier.

As in all Genesis loudspeakers the drives used in the 500's are custom-crafted devices designed and tuned by Genesis engineers for transparent, and dynamic performance.
the tweeter used in both the front and back of the Genesis 500 has been descirbed by many reviewers in both the American and foreign audiophile press as "possibly the world's best". It is a 1-inch planar ribbon design that is handcrafted from an extremely thin, laminated membrane of aluminum and kapton. It measures a mere 0,0005 of an inch thick. the advantage of incorporating such an extremely thin membrane is its low mass. the result of this design is a driver that produces a rapid and uniform response to high frequency transients and has the speed of the best ribbon/electrostatic designs without the characteristic distortion and poor dispersion associated with them.
The new 5-1/2" midrange driver is machined from pure titanium, one of the lightest and stiffest materials known to man, its super-low mass and virtually distortionless motor structure make it one of the best transducers ever made. With its nearly instantaneous transient response, this titanium midrange inspires the Genesis 500 loudspeakers to sound lifelike and effortless.
To create a "soundbridge" between the midrange and the servo-woofer system, the 500's incorporate our world-renowned 6-1/2" aluminum cone mid-bass coupler. Being of an extremely light and stiff design, this aluminum cone is capable of handling the huge dynamic range demands of the system while maintaining extremely low coloration and excellent transient response.
Servo control of the woofers coupled with metal cone technology creates the phenomenal bass performance of the 500's. Listening to traditional woofer systems, one could describe the bass as "heavy, soggy or boomy" to some extent because the woofer has high mass and therefore high inertia.

This causes poor control and high distortion, in a servo woofer sytem, complete control of the woofer is made possible by the addition of a motion sensor mounted directly on the woofer itself. the resultanr decrease in distortion, greater frequency extension and tight control yield musically accurate yet "floor shaking" bass.

Genesis 700 speakers

Genesis 700 Loudspeaker features:
The Genesis 700 is based on much of the same technology as found in Genesis Ireference System
Exceptional dynamic range and off-axis response
1,5" thick MDF front baffle and 1" thick MDF sides with heavy internal bracking
Newly-designed, dual 6,5" shielded metal-cone woofers
Twin 1" shielded circular-ribbon tweeters
Unique 4thorder Linkwitz-Riley phase-correct crossover loaded with custom genesis-designed parts
Designed to be equally at home in pure audio or home theater systems
Users adjustable music/video bass contour and tweeter level controls

The 700 incorporates two technologically-advanced and different driver designs to create its sonic magic. The bass and middle frequencies are handled by two shielded, custon-designed 6,5" long-throw metal-cone woofers, and the higher frequencies are reproduced by a shielded version of our famous 1" circular-ribbon tweeter, one in front and one in the rear.
The 700 can be used in either a horizontal position as a center channel,, or in a vertical mounting on either stands or wall mounts as the front, rear or main channels in a music or home theater system.
The crossover is a two-way, 4th order, Linkwitz-Riley phase-correct design that incorporates custom-wound Genesis capacitors, oxygen-free copper inductors and the finest parts available.
The design, quality of materials, and fit of the cabinet are critical to the performance of any loudspeaker. The 700 is unique in both its performance and its construction. Built from heavily-braced 1'-thick MDF for the sides, a 1,5" thick front baffle, and covered in either black ash or South American rosewood, the 700 can truly lay claim to a no-compromise approach.
Beacuse every room and listening situation is different it is not possible to design a loudspeaker that is perfect for every application. Knowing this, Genesis has continued in our tradition of offering you unmatched flexibility. In the rear of the 700, there are two controls, one for the tweeter level and one for music or video. The tweeter level control allows you to adjust the volume of the tweeter to perfectly match your tastes and your system. The music/video switch in the rear of the 700 allows the bass contour to be optimized for either application.

The Genesis 700 has exceptional dynamic range for a speaker of its size. It is capable of easily handling svral hundred watts of power and producing SPL levels approaching that of live music.
With a Frequency Response essentially flat from 48 Hz to 32 kHz, the 700 is a full-range loudspeaker for all but the lowest frequencies which, if necessary, can be augmented with the addition of a Genesis 900 subwoofer.

One of the most critical aspect of a loudspeaker's performance is the ability to maintain a flat energy response off-axis because we typically listen off-axis. The fact that a speaker is flat (in its acoustic energy output) on-axis is an attribute, but it is not as critical as its off-axis response. Very few loudspeakers ever achieve anything close the the level of smooth off-axis performance built into the 700. in fact, the off axis response of the 700 is so good it is often hard to tell where the speakers are in the room.

Genesis APM-1 loudspeakers

The Genesis APM-1 embodies our commitment to the shattering of traditional high-end loudspeaker price-to-performance ratios. With a stunning new form factor and engineering innovations that belie their cost, our new APM-1 is a ideal audio/video loudspeaker system, offering unprecedented ease of placement in your listening environment.. Their sleek modern industrial design encompasses innovative engineering and driver technology, setting the stage for the captivating performance of the revolutionary new APM-1 from Genesis technologies.

This series of loudspeakers, by virtue of its extraordinary dynamic range and extended frequency response, is perfect for both high-end home audio and video applications. The AMP-1 has in fact been specifically designed to excel in both of these areas.
Like all genesis loudspeakers, the  APM-1 embodies a dipole design producing sound from both the front and the rear, one out of phase with the other. While the advantages of dipole design are many, the two main benefis are ease of placement in the room 9they can even be located very close to a wall boundary) and more natural, spacious sound reproduction.

Dipoles achieve their superior performance because they create a radiation pattern where the energy emanating to the sides of the speakers is nearly non-existent. With very little acoustical energy reaching the side walls of your living room, not only is placement of the speakers easy but, remarkably, the listener is able to experience the music unencumbered by the normal room interactions which plague most other speaker system.

The APM-1 Loudspeakers utilize our most sophisticated technology. Suspended within sculpted cherry wood front baffles measuring a mere 11" wide are four 1" planar ribbon tweeters, a pair of our newly minted titanium midrange modules, as well as four mid-bass couplers. Down below are two 15" aluminum cone servo subwoofers driven by twin intergal G-SAT 500-watt servo-controlled switching power amplifiers.

Drivers.
The tweeter used in both the front and back of the  APM-1 has been described by many reviewers in both the American and foreign Audiophile press as "possibly the world's best". It is a 1" planar ribbon design that is handcrafted from an extremely thin, laminated membrane of aluminum and kapton. It measures a mere 0,0005" thick. The advantage of incorporating such an extremely thin membrane is its low mass. The result of this design is a driver that produces a rapid and uniform response to high frequency transient and has the speed of the best ribbon/electrostatic designs without the characteristic distortion and poor dispersion associated with them.

Our new 5-1/2" midrange driver is machined from pure titanium, one of the lightest and stiffest materials known to man. Its super low mass makes it one of the best transducers ever made. With its nearly instantaneous transient response, this titanium midrange inspires the APM-1 loudspeakers to sound lifelike and effortless. This driver will be incorporated into forthcoming Genesis products costing many times that of the  APM-1.
To create a "sound bridge" between the midrange and the servo-woofer system, the  APM-1 incorporates two of our world-renowed 6-1/2" metal cone mid-bass couplers ( as found in our Genesis V and Genesis 500). Being of an extremely light and stiff design, this metal cone is capable of handling the huge dynamic range demands of the system while maintaining the extremely low coloration and excellent transient response critical in reproducing the classic "Genesis Power Band".
As in all Genesis loudspeakers, the drivers used in the APM-1's are custom crafted devices designed and tuned by Genesis engineers for transparent and dynamic performance.

The APM-1 gets the "low Down"
Servo control of the woofers coupled with metal cone technology are the keys to the phenomenal bass performance of the APM-1. listening to traditional woofer systems, one could describe the bass as "heavy", 'soggy", or "boomy" to some extent because the woofer has high mass and therefore high inertia. This causes poor control and high distortion. In a servo woofer system, complete control of the woofer is made possible by the addition of a motion sensor (accelerometer) mounted directly on the woofer itself. The resultant decrease in distortion, greater frequency extension and tight control yield musically accurate yet "floor shaking" bass.

The servo controlled metal cone woofer system of the APM-1 are driven by the new Genesis G-Sat Amplifier. This unique power plant utilizes an axtraordinary technology known as the switching amplifier, first introduced to the audio world by Genesis co-founder Arnie Nudell. Acclaimed for exemplary performance by virtue of its perfectly linear response, near-perfect efficiency, and "slam factor", our switching amplifier is superior to just about any other form of amplification. In fact, the Genesis servo-bass system forges the best melding of driver and amplifier imaginable, yielding the precise and powerful bass required for today's demanding dual-purpose speaker systems.
