What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Electro-Voice LF-215 speakers

The Electro-Voice Model LF215 is a high-performance low-frequency speaker system designed for applications where portability is important. The LF215 features two EVM15L speakers connected in parallel and mounted in a 6,5 cubic feet enclosure equipped with heavy-duty casters. The enclosure is constructed of black vinyl covered 3/4-inch plywood, with protective extruded aluminum trim and recessed handles. The  rugged construction of the LF215 makes it ideal for road use.

The LF215 is designed to work well with the Electro-Voice HR series horns and DH series drivers for use in large music stage systems where a portable system is desired. The Electro-Voice XEQ-1 electronic crossover is also an ideal companion to this product.

Four rubber feet are provided on one side of the enclosure so that the LF215 may be laid on its side for stacking. Stacking will approximately halve the rated coverage angle (beamwidth) and increase the on-axis output by 6 dB. 3 dB comes because two paralleled LF215's will draw twice the power from the usual solid state amplifier. The other 3 dB comes from the reduced coverage angle.

EPI Model 60 speakers

 Philosophy of EPi Loudspeakers

EPI Loudspeakers division has incorporated all new technological advances, including new cabinet-making technologies, into three highly developed products. the results are three high-performance speaker systems at value prices. this fits right in with the EPI corporate policy. to continue to pioneer improvements in the area of natural sound, and at the same time, furnich you with realistically priced components. to do this we have separated our company into three divisions. with this new corporate structure we can continue to develop new and exciting audio products in different price ranges, because each speaker line gets the full design and engineering attention it deserves. our dedication to product quality is based on our personal interest in the integrity of sound. we're focusing on a new clarity which defines the unique acoustical properties of every instrument. Clear, transparent high frequencies, and tight, crisp basses, giving the listener the ultimate in natural sound.

EPI Model 60

The Linear Sound of an EPI Loudspeaker was never better represented than in our least expensive of a new generation of speaker systems - the EPI Model 60 in a cabinet of attractive new dimensions, the Model 60 offers the same dynamic performance as its predecessor,, the Model 50. EPI has essentially designed a conveniently-sized bookshelf speaker while maintaining the accuracy of sound reproduction. this simply means that regardless of how demanding the listening material may be the Model 60 is capable of delivering transparent high frequencies and solid, but distinct bass notes. its driver complement consists of a 1 inch EPI air-spring tweeter and a custom-made 6 inch high-compliance woofer. the elements of the drivers are combined and tested in the manufacturing process to insure a consistency of quality in a compatible module configuration. One of the most Impressive characteristics of the EPI model 60 is the ease with which it handles massive amounts of power. in this respect it is nearly as capable as the more expensive models. in addition, the Modell 60 is noted (as are all EPi loudspeakers) for its remarkable dispersion. the Speaker boasts an ability to reproduce accurate program material 60° to 90° off axis. This allows you to fill any listening room with equal musical energy over the entire range of the speaker. what is represented in the Model 60 is a method of avoiding any compromises of sound purity by utilizing our advanced technological improvements in relatively small enclosure. the genius of the Model 60 is the fact that we have been successful in capturing many of the outstanding benefits of our more elaborate models.

Bozak LS-440A speakers

440A

Bozak proudly announcies the introduction of our first "Image Enhancement" speaker system. This totally new concept in speaker design provides the user with both a three-way 18 dB per octave systemm, together with a limited bandwidth two-way 6 dB per octave system housed in a single cabinet.

The LS-440A is ideally used in large listening rooms so that the dramatic image enhancement is realized. It can also be used as a sound reinforcement unit for small concert halls up to 60 ft, in length.

The system consists of a line array 3-driver system comprised of 1" treble, 6" midrange and 8" woofer. Also included is a second array 2-way system consisting of a 4" midrange driver and an 8" woofer.

All of the patented curvilinear design drivers employed in the LS-440A speaker system are aluminum and unique in their ability to respond to transient information without cone break-up. They are unequaled in power handling capacity because of their ability to act as heat sinks.

A particular feature of the LS-440A permits the user to de-activate the midrange frequency in the two-way system included in the cabinet so that the LS-440A becomes a 3-way system with a double bass, resulting in a dramatic increase in bass levels.

The LS-440A is front-loaded for easy access. The woofer are housed in separate compartments and the 6" aluminium midrange driver also isolated through use of a dome.

The lamp limiter "fail-safe" feature, found in all Listener Series models, is included in the LS-440A to provide complete protection against possible tweeter burn-out through over-driving.

The hand-craft LS-440A cabinet utilizes walnut veneers to create a handsome addition to any listening room.

Bozak's LS-440A is an outstanding speaker system, designed specifically for use in medium to very large listening environments where faithful reproduction of the musical program is demanded; and with the unique LS-440A system is achieved.

Bozak LS-400A speakers

Bozak Listener Series - the next generation of Bozak quality in compact size.

Model LS-400A is the largest of the Listener Series. A three-way system, it employs component speakers identical to those used in the full-sized Bozak Concert Series speaker systems. And, indeed, the quality of reproduction, especially in the smaller sized rooms for which the Listener Series is designed can scarcely be distinguished from the larger Bozak speakers.

You must hear the LS-400A to believe it. No speaker on the market of comparable size and price even approaches this finest of compact Bozak speaker systems.

Bozak LS-250A speakers

Bozak proudly presents the LS-250A, Bozak's smallest speaker three-way speaker system but a giant in performance.

Designed especially for those demanding superb sound but with limited listening room space, the LS-250A offers more quality for its size than any other speaker system in its price class. Bozak's soft dome, wide frequency tweeter provides 180° dispersion throughout the listening area, producing minimal distortion and outstanding transient response in the upper register. The LS-250A's 4" aluminium cone is carefully engineered and designed to produce unusual clarity and exceptional capabilities in the midrange frequencies.

As the sounding board is the heart of the piano, the bass driver is truly the heart of the loudspeaker system. Originated at Bozak over thirty years ago, the 12" variable density bass cone used in the LS-250A speaker is compounded of formula. This unique structure gives the cone low mass-thus low inertia. The warm, rich bass sound of the LS-250A, with its sense of feel and ease for effortless sound replication, is a Bozak trade mark recognized throughout the U.S. and around the world.

Also featured in the LS-250A is a three-position contour switch which permits the selection of bright, normal or mellow sound characteristics to match the listening room acoustics or listener preference.

The cabinet housing the LS-250A components is rigidly constructed of 5/8" flake board, and totally sealed (infinite baffle type). Outer cabinet surfaces of the LS-250A are of walnut-grained vinyl, and the interior of the enclosure is heavily damped to minimize cabinet reflections.

The Bozak LS-250A, representing state-of-the-art. Engineering and design, is guaranteed to provide the listener with years of superb sonic performance.

Bozak LS-220A speakers

With its distinctive" tower-like" appearance, the LS-220A, a two-way speaker system, has been designed to provide "bigspeaker" response from its relatively small, columnar enclosure. The tower concept provides the listener with an exciting vertical image sound field with a total absence of the beaming effect usually found in small speaker systems.

Its robust bass, produced by Bozak's 8" aluminum woofer, is integrated with a specially designed cross-over network that assures a smooth transition to the celebrated Bozak 1" soft dome tweeter which provides clean clear highs without a hint of sibilance.

Bozak speakers have always been designed so that they do not "intrude" between the music and the listener.

The LS-220A's 8" aluminum woofer has a rigid, low mass, high compliance cone, and this together with other design criteria, permits the use of modestly powered amplifiers (25 watts RMS) with these efficient speakers.

The clarity, smoothness and warmth of the Bozak treble, without the annoying shrillness heard in many competitive tweeters, assures many hours of continuous listening pleasure with a total absence of "listener Fatigue", due primarily to uneven frequency response.

The sonic performance of the LS-220A assures that this strikingly handsome speaker system will be a worthy new addition to the Bozak product line.

Bozak LS-200A speakers

Listener Series LS-200A Two-way system

The name Bozak has always stood for the very highest standards in sound reproduction. Now, advances in the state-of-the-art. Have enabled Bozak to develop a new generation of compact speaker systems known as the Listener Series.

The flag ship of the Listener Series is Model LS-200A, designed to provide an optimum combination of frequency, phase and transient response resulting in an experience in musical reality from a minimal-sized system which can only be appreciated by listening.

Until the introduction of Bozak's LS-200A, bookshelf speakers represented a serious compromise between the convenience of a small enclosure and the desire for quality sound.

The LS-200A is a two-way speaker system housed in an attractive cabinet and designed for shelf or floor placement.

The system features a wide range B-800 driver that covers both the low and middle frequencies and a 1" soft dome tweeter, together with a specially designed crossover network that smoothly integrates the sound frequencies.

The smallest speaker in the Listener Series, the LS-200A has superb clarity and typical Bozak transient response. This is primarily due to the unique characteristics of the 8" aluminium woofer with patented curvilinear design, and specially constructed 1" soft dome wide-dispersion tweeter which produces crystal clear highs without a hint of shrillness.

The LS-200A does not add anything and, more importantly, does not subtract anything from the musical program.

All of the components used in our assembly of the LS-200A are made with the same care and precision as those employed in the internationally acclaimed Concert Grand speaker system.

Sony PS-T1 turntable

Semi-Automatic Direct-Drive Turntable System

The PS-T1 offers unprecedented value in a direct drive turntable system. Sony value, that brings uncompromised performance within the range of a modest sound budget. Sony quality, that includes the unerring precision of our exclusive DC servo motor. The flawless functioning of our newly designed "J" shaped tonearm. Play a favorite record on the PS-T1 and Experience Sony quality for yourself. Quality that's audible. Value that's remarkable.

Direct Drive System with Magnedisk Servo

Like every direct drive system, the PS-T1 has no intermediate speed reduction elements, since motor speed is exactly the same as platter speed, and the motor drive shaft is the spindle of the turntable. But this is where the similarities between Sony's drive system and other designs end. Unlike conventional direct drive systems, the PS-T1 features our exclusive BSL DC motor, which eliminates the cogging and noise common in other DC motors, which are structured with brushes and magnetic pole slots. Together with a heavy, precision-finished, diecast aluminum platter, this advanced design results in smooth rotational torque characteristics, fast start-up and minimal vibration.

An equally advanced speed monitoring system is employed, for the utmost speed stability, independent of line frequency and voltage fluctuations. The servo system consists of a multi-gap head, mounted on the perimeter of the turntable base, and a magnetic-coated platter rim. The magnetic head picks up a pulse signal recorded onto the magnetic coating, detecting any deviation from rated speed, which is instantly corrected.

The overall results of the advanced direct drive system are inaudible levels of rumble, wow and flutter.

Newly Designed Tonearm

The PS-T1's high-performance drive system is matched with a precision-engineered "J" shaped tonearm. The statically balanced aluminum arm offers precision tracking, for excellent sound and minimal record/stylus wear. It also offers an ideal combination of high rigidity and low resonance. Which means ideal tracking, and no undesirable low-frequency noise - a problem common in other systems due to record warp.

A front-mounted reject control provides fingertip operating convenience, and a viscous damped cueing lever assures precise manual tonearm placement. Additional system refinements give the PS-T1 a touch of luxury you'd expect to find on much costlier turntables. For example, speed can be adjusted up to ±4% for wide range pitch control. Direct reading gauges allow precise anti-skating and stylus force adjustment. A lightweight, plug-in headshell makes cartridge installation simple. And a tonearm safety clutch mechanism prevents damage if the tonearm is inadvertently held in place during the auto-return cycle.

Kenwood 's inspired engineering has produced - through a series of elaborate simulations and modifications - a damped pipe duct 4-way, 5-speaker system that takes you to the very heart of musical sound essence combined with many other superior qualities for which Kenwood enjoys justifiable international acclaim, this KL-500 speaker system rightfully belongs on that creative pinnacle that enables it to represent the best features of artistry and technology. Noted for exacting over-all high efficiency in true-total-tone reproduction, the KL-5080 fully complements all IDS music system.

Special Features

4-way 5-speaker

The luxurious 5-speaker system reproduces really natural hifi sound covering wide 30 - 22,000 Hz. The bass sound made by 12" free-edge type woofer has enough heaviness and excellent damping. The 1-1/4" metal cone type super tweeter adds very delicate nuance on the high frequencies over 10,000 Hz, and it makes the total sound fascinating

Large Power Input and High Sensitivity

Designed for high-power amplifiers, KL-5080 allows maximum input of 70 watts, which enables to use this system even in a large hall. Furthermore, thanks to its extra high sensitivity (102 dB), it can be satisfactorily driven with small output amplifiers

Damped Pipe Duct Type Bass Reflex

A dullness in the bass sound is inevitable in most bass reflex type enclosure, while the sealed enclosure give clean bass at the cost of decrease in the sensitivity. Kenwood, through elaborate simulations, has realized the exclusive Damped Pipe Duct, which provides true bass sound, free from distortion and dullness and with high efficiency.

3-Step Tone Selector

According to your individual preference or room acoustic condition, the most suitable tone characteristics can be selected as follows;

Clear - slight emphasis of highs

Normal - flat, hi-fi response

Soft _ slight attenuation of midrange and highs

High Quality Dividing Network

Smooth, distortion-free 4-way crossover, all between speaker units, is provided by a 12 dB/oct. L-C network which uses heavy-duty, copper, wire-wound inductance coils.

IDS Connection

The terminals for separate 3-way connection with 3 main-amplifiers reserve the development into ideal IDS music system. Kenwood's receiver and IDS amplifier, MA-5100, will be of use for the total line-up.

Pleasing Exterior

The carefully finished metal grille exterior will match, as a result of kenwood's craftmanship, the listening atmosphere and modern furniture.
