Optonica RT-6905
APMS (Automatic Programmable Music Selector)
The built-in microcomputer can be programmed to search out and play up to 16 musical selections on a cassette in any order you like. The RT-6905/1 can be set to stop automatically at the end of the last selection, or to continuously repeat the program until the stop key is depressed.
Tape Counter Memory
With its counter memory function, the RT-6905/1 can search out any given number on the tape counter and stop or automatically start playback there. the direct counter memory function will also remember either 1 or 2 points on a tape for you. The RT-6905/1 can also be programmed to search out a tape section marked by 2 numbers on the tape counter or by the two direct counter memories, play back only this section and stop automatically at the end point, or to repeat the section up to 5 times.
Four-head System
In addition to the sensing head employed in APMS and APSS operations, the RT-6905/1 incorporates separate Sendust recording and playback heads plus a ferrite erase head. This multi-head system enables monitoring directly from the tape as well from the source during recording.
2-Motor Closed Loop Dual Capstan Drive System with Quartz-Locked PLL Servo Capstan Motor
This advanced drive system substantially reduces wow and flutter and speed deviation caused by temperature drift, ageing and overload resistance.
Microcomputer-Controlled tape Tension Adjustment System
To eliminate wow and flutter at the start of playback,, before the dual capstan drive system takes effect, this system automatically optimizes tape tension before each playback operation
Programmable Timer System
This quartz clock also serves as the canter of a timer system that controls 4 AC outlets wired in 2 different groups. each outlet group can be programmed separately for timed auto start and stop. In addition to automatic recording and waking up to music programming capabilities, this system also offers special timed APMS and tape section replay possibilities.
Microcomputer-Controlled Daily and Weekly Programming
A built-in calendar function works with a microcomputer in the RT-6905/01 to keep track of day of the week, enabling programming for a full week - up to 42 steps a week or a day. Programs are not cancelled after execution, so regular operations like wake-up alarm or music or daily recording operations need only be programmed once. And the convenient "every-day" function allows easier programming of daily operations, with later programming of, say weekend operations, cancelling only the programmed days, so that the "everyday" program for week days is still intact,
Four Computer Controlled AC Outlets
Four AC outlets are wired in two different groups in the timer section of this unit, allowing connection of up to four audio components (including the deck section of the RT-6905/1 itself) or other units with a combined power consumption rating of 1000W
Cassette Time Counter
The time counter of the RT-6905/1 can keep track of the time a cassette has been running (up to 60 minutes, 00 seconds), or the time remaining on it for easier planning during recording. In addition to the up/down time counter functions that measure elapsed time and time remaining, the time counter includes a pause function to stop the counter during recording breaks.
One-Touch Tape Selector with Fine Adjustment System
Bias and equalization characteristics are easily set with a 4-button tape selector with normal, cro2, Fe-Cr and metal positions. Fine adjustments of bias current and sensitivity can also be made to tailor performance to individual tape characteristics.
APSS (Automatic Program Search System)
This system scans the tape at high speed in either the rewind of fast forward mode and, when it detects a blank space (non-signal segment) between songs, automatically stops or starts playback there , as desired.
Full Logic Solenoid Control System
Microcomputer control of the soft-touch solenoid switching mechanism enables direct changes of mode - even when changing tape direction - without ever having to push the stop key.
Remote Control
All tape transport functions, including APSS forward and reverse, can be controlled using the convenient infrared wireless remote control unit.
2-Color OPTO Peak Level Meters with Peak Hold Function
Adjustment of recording level is easy with these fast-action electronic level meters, which change from yellow-green to red as the 0 dB level. The peak hold function can be turned off, set to hold the peak level until recording is completed (ON) or set for automatic resetting of the peak level every 3 seconds (Auto Reset)
Quartz Digital Clock
The most accurate a quartz oscillator base in common use today serves as the core of the RT-6905/01 timing system to ensure accuracy of within 15 seconds a month. the display mode of this electronic timepiece can be switched between 24-hour indication or 12-hour indication with automatic AM/PM display. A convenient clock zero button enables one-touch clock synchronization with an hourly time signal.
