What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Pioneer SE-L20

Light, extremely compact open-air type stereo headphones featuring high molecular film diaphragm.

Can a set of stereo headphones weighing a more 205 grams (less than eight ounces) provide the same natural feeling you experience when listening to a conventional stereo speaker system? Pioneer says the answer is yes - and proves it with the introduction of the SE-l20 headphones. These light, highly compact headphones feature a Pioneer innovation - specially designed high molecular film diaphragm which is used in the 1½-inch dynamic speakers. The sound is natural, the response in the treble range is especially excellent, the bass response is rich and powerful. And thanks to a whole new brand of headphone technology, you'll enjoy long hours of fatigue free listening with the SE-L20. in fact, you'll hardly know you're wearing them.

Improved Open-Air Design
The design of the SE-L20 headphones is completely new . The back of each headphone unit is open so that the ear is not completely enclosed as with conventional type headphones. The result of this design is an extraordinary wide dispersion of sound, rare for headphones and not unlike the same natural feeling of listening to an ordinary speaker system.
