What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Acoustic Research AR303a

AR 303a
More than fourty years of research and design have led to the production of this extraordinary musical component. The natural evolution of the classic 1967 AR 3aand the critically acclaimed 1994 AR 303, the new AR 303a is the pinnacle of the Acoustic Research loudspeaker line, combining reference quality sonic performance and furniture grade appearance.

The AR 303a Loudspeaker System is finished in a genuine rosewood veneer, accented by a unique gold logo and serial number plate. It features a redesigned creossover network, heavy duty 14 AWG internak wiring and bi-wire/bi-amp capability with improved gold plated 5-way binding posts.

True Acoustic Suspension technology
The AR 303a is based on Tre Acoustic Suspension design, a technology invebted by AR in 1954. a true Acoustic Suspension design uses the air inside of sealed enclosure to precisely control the excursion (back and forth movement) of the woofer cone.
The woofer cone is made of rigid felted paper, and when combined with a high compliance surround it moves like a piston. The long-throw voice coil is designed to undergo large disolscement while maintaining linearity. The compression annd expansion of air in the enclosure provides the linear restoring force to the cone. A True Acoustic Suspension design results in tight, controlled bass, excellent power handling capability and low distortion even at high output levels.
