What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Stereo receiver with DC Power Amp
the 350R features a DC configuration OCL power amplifier for clear, clean sound and low distortion. the four gang FM tuning section and all silicon dual gate MOSFETs assures an extra-wide, low noise signal and superior FM reception. The 350R's dual wide range power level meters calibrated in watts and dBW indicate amplifier output at a glance, the MPX filter cancels unwanted FM noise
Features include: a stereo beacon; FM center chanel and AM/FM signal strength tuning meters; left and right output power meters calibrated 0,001 to 100 watts and -30 dB to +20 dBW for 8 Ω loads; automatic dubbing from one tape to another; and an output hold-off that prevents power supply turn-on transients from being fed to the speakers.
There are inputs for magnetic phono, aux, and two tape. Outputs fro two speaker systems, two tape, and phones.
Controls are provided for tuning, volume, ganged bass, ganged treble, input selection /FM MPX filter, and speaker selection. There are switched for FM muting, high filter, loudness compensation, mono-stereo mode, copy 9dub tape 1 to tape 2), and tape monitor selection.
The fM antenna input is 75 and 300 ohms. A rod antenna and external connection are provided for AM. There are switched and unswitched AC outlets.

Performance FM Tuner Section
Full mute release was attained with 5,5 µV. The monophonic high fidelity sensitivity (60 dB quieting) measured 7 µV. The stereo high fidelity sensitivity (55 dB quieting) was 75 µV. Full mute release was attained with 12 µV. At standard test level the stereo frequency response measured ±3 dB from 70 to 14,000 Hz, rising to +3,5 dB at 15,000 Hz. The monophonic distortion measured 0,65% T.H.D.  The stereo distortion was 0,95% to 0,8% depending on the tuning adjustment (the indicators permit a relatively broad center-channel tuning range). The Signal-to-Noise ratio (mono) measured 69 dB. Stereo separation was 32 dB. Selectivity was good.
AM Tuner Section - background noise was relatively higher than average
Amplifier Section
The power output per channel at the clipping level with both channels driven 20 to 20,000 Hz into 8 ohms measured 88 watts RMS. The Frequency Response at 88 watts, 8 ohms measured +0/-1,5 dB from 20 to 20,000 Hz at a distortion no higher than 0,06% T.H.D. at any frequency.
The tone control range measured +9/-11 dB at 50 Hz ; ±11 dB at 10,000 Hz
The magnetic input hum and nooise measured -62 dB, stereo separation was into the noise level.
The LED output power indicators are instantaneous and track the peak program level. Calibration is approximate. The frequency response is "flat" from 20 to 20,000 Hz in terms of a single LED staying lit across the entire band of test frequencies.
Overall dimensions measure (W x H x D): 17-3/4" x 5-1/4" x 11-13/16"
