What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Kenwood KR-9600 receiver

AM/FM Stereo Receiver

The KR-9600 Receiver puts independent power supplies behind each channel, so demanding musical passages in one channel won't cause distortion in the other. At 160 watts per channel minimum RMS power at 8 , from 20 to 20,000 Hz, with no more than 0,08% Total Harmonic Distortion. The KR-9600 is the most powerful receiver we have ever made. What's more the KR-9600 is loaded with special features. A mid-range presence control, MIC mixing and source fading a deviation meter for source fading, a deviation meter for perfect off-air recording and 2 big power meters, to mention a few.

Kenwood's finest KR-9600 incredible power, advanced new circuitry and full complement of controls for unsurpassed performance. Features:

Dual power supplies end crosstalk distortion

Two selectable-range Power meters

Separate equalizer amplifiers for Phono 1 and Phono 2

FM front end couples a dual-gate MOS FET with 5-gang tuning capacitor for the theoretical limit in FM sensitivity (1,5 µV)

Low-distortion, 8-element linear phase IF filter

PLL in FM Multiplex for improved stereo separation

FM Dolby deemphasis switch

Dual function Signal/Deviation Meter

Microphone input for overdub on tape and Public Address

wo tape deck capability with bi-directional dubbing and tape-through circuit
