What is stereo?




There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

VPI Forever Model One turntable

The VPI Forever Series ushers in a new era of performance and modularity, paying tribute to over 45 years of VPI heritage. This new series embodies VPI’s commitment to innovation, offering turntables that can evolve with the user. The Model One, the first release in this series, features a fully modular and upgradeable system, blending VPI’s engineering excellence with future-proof design.

 

At the heart of the Model One is the Motor Drive and Platter Module, crafted for both high performance and flexibility. This module is mounted on a thick aluminum plate and features a resonance-canceling damping plate to reduce vibrations, improving sound clarity. Key features include:

300 RPM belt drive motor (500 RPM in 230V countries) with a two-speed pulley for precise speed control.

Forever Platter: A 2” thick, 12” diameter platter with an inverted bearing, minimizing surface area contact between the platter and bearing, which reduces friction and boosts performance.
