What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

mbl Magnetostatic Super Tweeter

MBL Magnetostatic Super Tweeter
Over the 28 mm dome a new magnetostatic driver is used as a super tweeter. The decision to use this design is the result of some fundamental physical considerations. For the representation of frequencies exceeding 30 kHz in an authentic way only a ribbon tweeter, electrostatic or, as in this case, a magnetostatic transducer can be considered. Ribbons and electrostats have disadvantages compared to a genuine magnetostat. For example an electrostat requires a separate high voltage power supply to the transducer and has a smaller dynamic range as compared to a magnetostat. A ribbon tweeter does not offer the longterm stability and has a very narrow sound dispersion.

Only the magnetostat comprises all the advantages such as:
Extremely low mass, resulting in a perfect transient response.
High dynamics transparency and fidelity in detail
No partial oscillation
Good radiation characteristics
Linear frequency range up to over 50 kHz
Accustically neutral foil - no sonic signature
Constant impedance
Very high long-term stability

Bell HF-2240

High Fidelity sound at moderate cost.
Bell Coaxial Loudspeaker - to hear it is proof conclusive that you can have.
Here is the long sought for ideal. A twelve-inch coaxial speaker in which top-flighy electronic engineering, acoustical designing, and the best of materials are combined, to satisfy the high fidelity enthusiast's ear, at a price he can afford.

In this Bell Loudspeaker an efficient low-frequency driver cone is teamed with a high frequency radiator, coaxially mounted, to reproduce both voice and music with unusual audio faithfulness. Cone and radiator are acoustically arranged for distribution of sound over a wide room area. From felt buffer mounting rim to its heavy Alnico Vmagnet, the Bell Model HF-22440 is engineered for output which  - measured by ear or instrument - is uniformly smooth and flat in the "presence" region.
This speaker has been carefully designed for use with any one of Bell's High Fidelity Amplifiers.

Goodmans Axiette 8

Here is the new model of the world famous Axiette - smallest true high fidelity loudspeaker produced.
The Axiette 8 retains the best features of the original Axiette: teh unique hyperbolic diaphragm, plastic terminated, and aluminum drive coil. In addition, it features a new and brilliantly conceived die-cast chassis whose unitary design retains all parts in precise alignmentt. Electro Voice 12 TRXB

 Integrated 3-way speaker Features:
Massive die-cast frame
Viscous damped cloth suspension
Ceramic magnet
Integral Sonophase VHF driver

Incorporating  all the design advantages of the famous Electro-Voice Radex Caaxial principle, the Electro-Voice Model 12 TRXB integrated 3-way loudspeaker includes, also, the latest developments in the reproduction of the highest audible frequencies through the use of an integral Super Sonax VHF driver.
The  12 TRXB emplous the Model T35B VHF driver base response is excellent, affording pleasing musical balance without the masking effects previously experienced from extended high frequency reproduction.
The 12 TRXB loudspeaker is designed to meet optimum listening requirements; latest developments incorporated insure even, smooth coverage of the entire listening area. The engineered features of the Electro-Voice integrated 3-way speaker system include true oncentric mounting of all reproducing elements; augmented balanced bass response in conjunction with smooth, extended high frequency reproduction, carefully tailored mid-range characteristic to provide realism and a considerable degree of "presence" at usual sound levels. The 12 TRXB incorporates in the high frequency section the Sonophase throat design.
The importance of the Sonophase throat design is paramount above 12 kc, where sound must b taken from the center of the diaphragm and the outer periphery simultaneously.
At lower frequencies, where the diaphragm is a piston, and no phase shift is required in the path configuration, the longer central path length does not appreciably change the phase due to the longer wave lengths involved. Further benefits are affored in the high frequency section of the Electro-Voice integrated 3-way speaker systems by the incorporation of Electro-Voice developed diffraction horns as the method of achieving the best dispersion. In stereophonic use especially, a 3 dB concentration of sound in one portionof the subject, with the resultant distortion of the solid or stereo effect. An adjustable "brilliance" control is incorporated to allow matching of response to room acoustic, compensating for high frequency absorptive efects of heavy drapery and soft frnishhings; crossover network with full 12 dB per octave slope minimizes distortion; edgewise-wound aluminum voice coil design affords 18% more efficiency and consequent damping of transient distortion.

Lowther PM6

PM6 Drive Unit for use with Acousta Enclosures
The PM6 is an 8 inch twin cone unit of similar design to the PM3, plastic foam suspension, aluminum voice coil and a modified form of Stabilizer being used in the construction.
The magnetic structure, lathough not as large as on the PM3, nevertheless produces a gap flux of 17,500 gauss - well above comparable units. All the benefits attendant with such a large magnetic field are derived - minimum transient distortion - greater efficiency - improved high frequency response. The PM6 has been designed for use in enclosures which provide direct high and mid-frequency rediation and produce the necessary rear loading in the bass range. Mounted in such an enclosure the full capabilities of this drive unit will be realized, ensuring smooth extended bass reproduction free of "boom" and " one not bass", while in the upper range, reproduction will be well balanced and crisp-yet not tiring.
The performance of the Acousta  - or any similar enclosure - will be greatly enhanced when used with the PM6 drive unit,

Due to the high order of efficiency of the PM6, fusing is recommended in order to prevent damage resulting from overloading of the unit.
