What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Over the years, our products have earned a worldwide reputation for fine sound quality and high standards of construction. The primary design aims have always been tonal neutrality, low colouration, transparency and wide bandwidth. Another major consideration is consistent and trouble free performance from a system over many years of operation. To ensure this, only high quality components are used in the construction of our loudspeakers.
From time to time we introduce a new model, when we do, the new design must possess the strengths of its predecessor, plus other substantial advances, in order to justify the change. Our new designs tend therefore to be few and far between.
Constant background research does, however, yeild improvements in our understanding of loudspeaker systems and advances in the performance of drive units. The use of Polypropylene as a cone material, and the recent introduction of high performance metal dome tweeters has meant that advances are possible.
The friuts of this research and increased understanding of system behaviour has yielded new systems of advanced design and high quality performance.
