What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Pioneer SX-737

High sensitive FM/MW stereo receiver Features:
2 x 50 watts RMS with THD less than 0,5%
Dual meter tuning system with FM-linear dial scale
Stable PLL MPX section.
IF circit with 5-stage limiter and high-performance IC
Four element phase-linear ceramic filters provide very high selectivity.
Automatic protection ciecuit.
Unique recording selector.

With its extraordinary engineering, advanced design concept and extreme flexibility, Pioneer's new SX-737 AM-FM stereo receiver offers a level of performance that can only be described as awesome. Its exceptional FM reception is achieved through the use of phase lock loop circuitry, ceramic filters, and a dual-gate MOS FET. So it cleanly and clearly picks up stations that were once just numbers on the dial - without interfernce.
The SX-737 has more than enough power to satisfy your needs. It delivers 35 watts per channel, minimum continuous power, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, maximum total harmonic distortion o,5% at 8 ohms. And all of this power is smooth and stable with dual power supplies driving direct-coupled circuitry.

It accommodates every listening interest with a complete range of connections for two pairs of speakers, turntable, tape decks (wwith tape-to-tappe duplication), headphones and microphone. And it offers an exclusive Recording Selector that lets you record FM while listening to records, or vice versa.
All of this performance requires the proper controls to handle it. And the SX-737 gives you the kind of control mastery you deserve. Click-  stop tone controls, high/low filters, loudness control, dual tuning meters, and FM muting.
