What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

MBL 300E speakers

This model is a 3½-way 4 Ω  floor standing speaker. For the reproduction of low-bass two very stiff aluminum drivers are used. The other frequencies are reproduced via a 170 mm midrange speaker with Kevlar membrane, a 28 mm soft dome tweeter and a magnetostatic super tweeter. The 60 mm sound panel made of laminated MDF, providesunshakeable stability.
The mbl 300E produces a bass that practically :lives" in the room and maintains a flat response to the lowest ranges. Even at extremely high volume levels there are no signs of stress. Thus, a sound basis is created whwereupo the other drivers can build their free, spatial sound spectrum with absolute reproduction of the original sound stage.

Features:
Magnetostatic super tweeter, for ultra high frequency bandwidth features a 4 mm aluminum mounting plate with sound dispersion grooves
Super tweeter housed in a separate closed chamber to avoid air compression
Soft dome tweeter with excellent linearity ±0,5 dB
Midrange driver utilizes a lightweight stiff Kevlar membrane for fast pulse response
Two woofer drivers with black anodized aluminum cones in separate chambers
Newly developed crossovers made from top-class materials (air coils, metal-oxide resistors, etc.)
Crossover design for bi-wiring, bi-amping
Wiring with top-quality low oxygen single crystal OCC/OFC copper cables
Low-resonance 22 mm MDF cabinet
60 mm driver panel thickness
Unique exterior asymmetric panel face with curved edges-reduces edge defraction
Prefabricated cabinet base for mounting to MBL custom designed acoustically correct stands

The unique bass drivers used in the mbl 300E are equipped with newly developed, high quality, black anodized, aluminum cones which constitute a significant breakthrough in performance. Never before have drivers of this size been able to produce such prodigious bass response. We have succeeded in silencing secondary vibrations by adding magnesium to the cone material. Over and above there are two woofers in each speakers, the work load is reduced. As a consequence, bass reproduction is fast, powerful and very deep.
The cone is the most critical factor to the sound of a modern midrange driver. Overlooking certain aspects of a cone's structure and design, especially maximizing stiffness without regard for good selfdamping, results in less than musical sounding drivers. Colorations created within the material of the cone cannot be eliminated by fancy crossovers. Because the sound of the cone so directly dictates the sonic signature of the loudspeaker, great attention was spent researching the ultimate cone material.
The result of our effort is the Kevlar material that we believe sets a new reference in reproduction. The Kevlar material combines the precision and transparency of hard cones  with the smoothness and musicality of softer materials.
The benchmark 170 mm driver with the lightweight and extremely stiff Kevlar membrane is part of the mbl 300 E midrange. Its response is extremely precise and fast. Open construction eliminates compression effects allowing for the very finest nuances to be reproduced in a dynamic and genuine way. Having this extremely rigid and lightweight membrane allows a higher crossover frequency, optimal to the tweeter.
The extraordinary 28 mm dome tweeter can be operated in a frequency range of 450 Hz to 27 kHz with a linearity of ±0,5 dB. This ismade possible by innovative engineering that avoids air compression behind the dome. A large volume of copper surrounds the magnet center pole absorbing heat. Ferro fluid, normally used as the cooling medium for the voice coil is fuly  avoided. Thus the moving coil is fully avoided. Thus the moving coil responds to the smallest current impulses and converts themn immediately into movement. Inn our speaker design this driver is used from 2,5 kHz far above the low-end cutoff frequency.
