High-end performance at a mid-range price. Rotel once again combines outstanding sound quality and power handling capabilities to ensure listening satisfaction every time.
Rotel's new high-performance cassette deck combines exceptional musicality with a number of important design features normally found only on much more expensive decks. RD870 is an ideal component for the demanding audio enthusiast who seeks excellent musical reproduction, reliability and recording versatility.
A two-head deck, RD870 features a Sendust record/play head for best performance and durability. Its two-motor drive system and extremely precise critically engineered mechanism combine for very low Wow and Flutter, resulting in highly accurate sound reproduction. Solenoid soft-touch controls add precision and ease of use.
RD870 incorporates Dolby B and C noise reduction systems and adds the outstanding HX-Pro headroom extension system. The superb performance advantages of HX-Pro include automatic bias adjustment during recording, maximixing dynamic range without tape saturation, optimizing Signal-to-Noise Ratio and ensuring maximum accuracy of high frequency response. Your tapes will sound more life-like and dynamic, with superb reproduction of high frequencies. One of the most advanced and exciting developments in recent cassette deck technology, HX-Pro greatly improves the quelity of your recordings, and does so without the side-effects associated with some earlier systems. In addition tapes recordedusing the HX-Pro system may be played back on decks without HX-Pro with no deterioration of sound quality. This means you can enjoy the benefits of HX-Pro when playing back your tapes on a portable or automobile cassette deck without the HX-Pro feature.
Bias settings for normal, chrome or chrome-equivalent and metal tapes give maximum flexibility in your choice of tape formulations. For best results from virtually all commercial tape brands, a manual fine bias adjustment has been incorporated. By allowing you to accurately match the bias characteristics of most quality tapes, this feature helps to ensure best sound quality without restricting you to the tape brands for which the deck was factory-calibrated.
A dual-concentric record-level control allows separate adjustment of each channel, and 20-segment LED meters accurately display recording levels.
Additional convenience features include "memory" and Repeat" for fast location of favourite tracks, "pause" and recrd-mute". A headphone jack is also included.
