What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Mechanical Tape Tension Servo

Automatically maintains steady tape "holdback tension to smooth load fluctuations on drive system and greatly reduces wow and flutter. Helps insure pure clean sound.

Record/Playback Head

Hard permalloy composition delivesr flat frequency response (to 16 kHz) and extended head life using any tape formulation

Illuminated VU Meters

Give a clear accurate picture of left and right channel recording levels for optimum recording quality without distortion

Dolby Noise Reduction

Virtually eliminates tape hiss, improving signal to noise performance by up to 10 dB in the critical treble region of the audio spectrum.

Separate EQ and Bias

Allows selection of accurate equalization and bias settings for optimum recording results with any tapes

Digital Tape Counter with Reset

Makes it easy index tapes and find any desired selection quickly

Full Auto-Stop Mechanism

Disengages automatically at either end of tape in any mode to prevent unnecessary tape and mechanism wear, eliminating the need to rush to shut the machine off.

Soft Eject

Air-damped cassette door glides open smoothly and quietly with the touch of "Eject"
