What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Aiwa SD-L30 cassette deck

Stereo Cassette Deck

High performance recording and playback in a tape deck less than 7,2 cm high

A full-fledged, full-performance stereo unit with every essential feature you'd expect to find in larger systems, the SD-L30 combines modern styling with an incredibly precise slot-in loading mechanism and reliable DC servo motor that makes you wonder why decks got so big and complicated in the first place.

Metal Compatibility

The ability to make recordings on high performance metal cassettes is no longer a luxury confined to high priced avantgarde models; Aiwa has modified the SD-L30's circuitry and boosted erasure power to ensure full compatibility with metal. Along with extended frequency response metal tapes will give such dynamic sound you'll want to use them for all your serious recording work. A tough long-wearing hard Permalloy record/playback head and dounble-gap ferrite erase head ensure trouble free performance from all tape formulations.

Optical Peak Display

Besides conserving space, responsive peak LEDs provide an additional measure of accuracy to take the guesswork out of record level adjustment. Signals are indicated separately for left and right channels in an easy-to-read 3-color sequence from -10 dB to +6 dB

Amazingly, the SD-L30 even has rear panel jacks to accommodate a pair of microphones for live stereo recordings

Plus features:

Dolby NR system

Full auto stop

Separate L/R record volume controls

Line/mic input selector

Digital tape counter

Head cleaning access window
