What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

CEC ST 120

From its inception to the present, belt drive has been improved by making various design changes to the motor or platter balance. Now the FG motor-driven ST120 brings an even higher level of performance. Many other improvements have been made to raise this high performance turntable into a leading role.
FG Seervo DC Motor
The FG servo DC motor is coaxially coupled to maintain high accuracy in rotation speed. The signal is converted into rectangular waves by a waveform shaping circuit then into trigger pulses by the trigger pulse generator circuit. This addition of electronic control assures precise motor rotation.
Auto Return and Auto Shutoff
The toneram is also automatically returned to rest and power turned off at the end of play. This feature frees you to enjoy play without worrying about the end of the record.

Special Independent Chassis Suspension
An original design independent suspension design is incorporated to eliminate  vibrations. This system is based on damping rubber cushinos and balanced steel springs to isolate the cabinet assembly from outside vibration.
Acoustic feedback is almost eliminated with this independent structure.

Oil-Damped Cueing
Oil -damped cueing of ST120 brings the stylus to rest in the groove with such precision and gentleness your records will no longer be damaged on cueing. Lead-in is safe, easy and accurate.
 Pitch Control
The pitch control permits adjustments for the sensitive ear. Now you can play or sing along with your favorite recorded pieces with accurate pitch control.

Low Mass Straight Tonearm
A low mass straight tonearm that has been balanced for resonance provides accurate tracking and also includes a removable headshell and antiskating device.
