The Pritchard Pickup System is a precision instrument built to the highest engineering standards. It should, therefore, be treated with every reasonable care.
Audio Dynamic's research in stereo sound made the five essentials of true stereo reproduction possible with the amazing ADC cartridges. But these essentials are dependent upon the use of a dynamically balanced tone arm capable of tracking at less then 1 gram.
After intensive development, Audio Dynamics now presents an entirely new pickup system. It combines the highly compliant ADC-1 stereo cartridge and a remarkable tone arm that guarantees you all five essentials of true stereo reproduction.
The Pritchard Pickup System gives you a true, dynamically balanced tone arm. Unlike other systems, the heavy adjustable counterweight occupies a minimal amount of space behind the mounting. To adjust stylus tracking force, you simply move the counterweight until the arm is in perfect balance. A fine adjustment allows the system to track at the precise force required by the cartridge design. With the ADC-1, the Pritchard system tracks at ¾ gram.
Beacuse of its low inertia, the system tracks each side of the groove perfectly, ever if the record is warped. To stabilize the force created between the disc and the arm, a side thrust to maintain even pressure on both sides of the groove wall. A single ball bearing mount minimizes friction.
Additional features make the Pritchard system not only a masterful achievement in design but also a superb piece of equipment to handle. The visible stylus tip makes record cueing especially easy. A unique built-in arm rest unit eliminates the troublesome problem of locating the rest position. You simply clear the arm of the record and the arm positions itself. Furthermore, the system is so light and properly balanced, there is no tendency for the arm to "get away" when positioning it to play. Finally the Pritchard Pickup Sytem by Audio Dynamics is not a formidable looking piece of technical equipment. Its clean design and ease of operation make even the novice secure in handling it.
All these features give you a perfectly balanced tone arm combined with a cartridge which guarantees the five essentials of true stereo reproduction. If you are an owner of an ADC-1 cartridge, all you need is the Pritchard tone arm. If you do not posses the ADC-1 and are searching for a truly remarkable pickup system, hear the Pritchard by Audio Dynamics.
