What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Micro Seiki MA-707

Low mass type dynamic balance tonearm.
The MA-707 is a newly developed dynamic balance tonearm featuring superb tracking due to the light stylus force. And the low effective mass perfectly matches the characteristics of high-compliance type cartridges. Another feature is the rigid yet light aluminium alloy used in the pipe part of the arm. The internal lead wires are actually tiny coaxial cables. Hard gold plating of the headshell terminals and plug-in type construction assure perfect conductivity. The unique dynamic balance system has been made practical due to the spring system (patent pending) using a torsion bar. Linearity is outstanding even with extremely light stylus force.
Even with low-compliance type cartridges, the correct balance can be obtained by adding weights to compensate.

A complete solution to the problems of the dynamic balance system.
There are few dynamic balance type tonearms in the market even though this type is said to be ideal. One reason is the precision required for the spring built into the dynamic balance system. The weak points are the difficulty of maintaining spring linearity at light stylus forces and loss of tension with the passage of time. The MA-707 uses a precision spring developed through strict selection of materials and high precision processing. These problems have been completely solved by the use of a torsion bar. Stylus force change is extremely linear from 0,3 to 3,0 grams, by 0,1 gram step. Tracking is extremely sensitive at low stylus forces, with high compliance type cartridges.

A dynamic balance system without inertial moment
The tonearm itself is perfectly balanced and stylus force is applied only through the tension of the spring. Because of this, there is no moment acting upward due to unevenness of the record surface as with the static balance type. In other words, whatever the condition of the record surface, the stylus force is constant. And there is almost no influence from the warp of record and eccentricity the turntable being out of level, etc.

Micro Seiki DQ-41

 Micro Seiki DQ-41
Quartz Locked PLL Direct Drive Electro Auto Lift/Stop Complete Stereo Turntable, with Rose, Ebony or Black Wooden Base and Dust Cover.
The heart of any turntable are its rotation and transmission systems. In both, the quality of materials used and the precision with which they have been manufacured determine how well the turntable performs its function.
For years, the name Micro Seiki has been synonymous with turntables machined and engineered of the finest materials. Micro Seiki Turntables have been designed to advance the state-of-the-art. And win awards for elegance. These turntables are as easy to use as they are to look at.
Electronic  Auto End-Lift and Shut-Off System
Conventional  end-of-record lift and shut-off systems use some type of mechanical link between the tonearm and trip mechanism.
Seiki turntables have a totally electronic trip system employing a Hall-Effect sensor. Since it is devoid of all mechanical appendages or links, the tonearm possesses all the qualities of a separate manual unit, including the ability to track superbly at less than 1 gram.
The concept is simple; the execution flawless. At the end of a record, the tonearm traces the run-out grooves, increaaing its speed toward the center. The Hall-Effect electronic circuit detects this speed change and generates the necessary control signals. The viscous-damped lifter is activated to raise the arm and shut off the power to the turntable. As an added protection for your records, in the event of a power failure, the arm will lift automatically, silently and smoothly.
Direct Drive DC Servo Motor
Micro Seiki DQ-41 turntables utilize a direct-driven DC servo-controlled drive motor. The advantages of this type of motor/transmissionless system are extreme speed stability and increassed torque.  Unaffected by temperature changes and voltage fluctuations, the resultant wow and flutter components are less than 0,03% WRMS and the signal-to-noise ratio greater than 63 dB JIS (75 dB DIN-B).

PLL Quartz Speed Reference
The speed of the DQ-41 is controlled by a quartz reference and phase-locked-loop. It is so accurate, it negates the need for a stroboscopic reference.
Low-Mass Straight Tonearm with Dual Radial Bearings
A special aluminum alloy is used to give the arm its formidable strength and exceptionally low mass. Both qualities are needed to take full advantage of today's supercompliant cartridges. The straight-line geometry assures the most accurate tracking angles as well as contributing to the arm's low mass. A pair  of precision radial bearings give the arm a lateral sensitivity of only 10 milligrams.
Even the normally-overlooked signal connectors are of the constant-wipe type, insuring contact maintenance at all times.
Skating Force Cancellation
Anti-skating is provided by a precision calibrated adjustment to axactly match vertical tracking force.
 Oil Damped Cueing
Feather-light contact between stylus and record groove is provided by the oil-damped cueing system. It is silent, smooth and, at the end of a record, completely automatic.
Headshell
Thanks to the use of carbon fibres, the headshell is as light and rigid as the arm itself. It joins the arm with a semi-integrated plug-in system that utilizes thick gold-plated wiping-type contacts. Oxygen-free copper leads are used to exclude electromagnetic influences (eddy-current lossles) resulting in exceptional transmission characteristics (improved S/N ratio)

Inert Copper Coil
An inert, oxygen-free, copper coil is at the heart of the 2-MF cartridge. Electromagnetic influences (eddy current lossles) are excluded, resulting in exceptional transmission characteristics as well as an improved signal-to-noise ratio.
 Low-Impedance Circuitry
Very low impedance circuits are used throughout the 2-MF to enhance passage of the highest audio frequencies. And to insure a generous output voltage, the magnet structures are manufactured of High -Flux Alnico V.
 Low Mass Elliptical Stylus
The specially-ground elliptical diamond stylus has an extremely small moving mass. It not only has inherently good high-frequency capabilities, but excellent tracking characteristics as well.
 Crossed Yoke
A completely separated, cross-shaped yoke is utilized to isolate the left and right-channel  magnetic fields.  This novel design is responsible for the 2-MF's unusually high separation of more than 25 dB over all frequencies.
 Genuine Wood Base
One of the best acoustical dampening materials known is wood. It is used as the base material for all Micro Seiki turntables and is available in both natural rosewood and ebony finishes.
Special feet
All Micro Seiki turntable systems are equipped with specially-developed anti-feedback feet. The chart below shows a comparison between the isolation provided by conventional rubber feet and the Micro Seiki feet. As it apparent, sub-sonic resonance is greatly reduced by the Micro Seiki design.

Micro Seiki BL-91 (L)

 Belt Drive Turntable System (Armless)
Many manufacturers have been promoting the direct-drive motor at the expense of precision materials and manufacturing techniques. While direct-drive is capable of remarkable speed accuracy, the system does nothing toward maintaining that accuracy against the inevitable destructive effects of aging.
Our  philosophy is that there isno substitute for quality, precisoin and tank-like ruggedness.
The BL-91 (L) turntable is the ultimate expression of that philosophy. Staring with a massive, thick,  12,2inch platter and employing special-alloy bearings machined and polished with techniques usually reserved for turbojet engines, Micro's engineers have devised an exclusive oil-bath damping system to support the entire rotating assembly in complete isolation from all mechanical resonaces.
A precision-ground drive belt connects the rotating assembly to the brushless, servo-controlled motor with total isolation from motorgenerated vibration. In fact, the BL-91 (L) is probably the smoothest, most vibration-free device of its kind ever built.
 Rotating Assembly
The massive platter sits atop an incredibly thick, 16 mm main shaft. Its concentricity is machined to within 0,4 microns. The bearing material is a special alloy lubricated by and suspended in a unique oil-bath damping system.  Electronics power Transformer
To service the servo electronics, a special transformer with a cutless core was developed. This extremely low-flux device reduces to near zero magnetically-induced hum when used with a moving-coil phono cartridge.
 Turntable Base
The base of the BL-91 (L) is made completely of multi-laminar natural woods,a dense, sturdy design that prevents the transmission of resonances and distortion forces. It is finished with hand-rubbed, natural-ebony veneer suspended on four sophisticated, anti-feedback feet.
 Brass TonearrmMounting Plate.
The tonearm mounting plate on the BL-91 is solid brass. It weighs 1,5 kg (2,0 kg for BL-91L). This plate keeps the tonearm fulcrum rigid, assuring accurate tracing angles and minimal tonearm resonances.
The standard plate will fit the following arms;  Micro Seiki, Audiocraft, Technics. Teac, Denon, JVC
Optional mounting plates are available for SME, Grace and other quality arms.

Micro Seiki DQX-1000

 MICRO SEIKI DQX-1000
Design Integrity -
These unique design concepts have been exhaustively researched and tested by our engineers. All the manufacturing and assembly stages conform to the highest quality standards in order to produce this definitive turntable system. The result is surely one of the finest turntables available. Absolutely superb mechanical stability and precision.
The Ideal Comprator -
Itself incomparable, the DQX-1000 can help you enormously in comparing cartridges and tonearms. The turntable is so neutral, you effectively remove it as a variable in your judgment. And since up to three arms can be mounted simultaneously, your comparative evaluations will be much more accurate and definitive.
The Unique Turntable System -
The three large insulators on the DQX-1000 form a unique absorber mechanism taht not only eliminates entirely the hazards of external vibration, but also serves to isolate the arm mount from the turntable. Up to three high quality tonearms may be mounted simultaneously, and tonearms are interchanged easily and quickly. The power supply and transformer are completely isolated in a separate control unit, thus eliminating any feedback or hum interference.

 Turntable
The exceptional performance stability of the DQX-1000 can be attributed to the large: 31 cm; 2,9 kg, the platter has a significantly high moment of inertia: 600kg/cm².  Additionally, a low shaft burden has been achieved by distributing the weight around the perifery of the platter. The rotational momentum is accordingly very even and constant. Sroboscope markings are inscribed on the turntable, and as the stroboscope is aligned to a buuilt-in oscillator, power line variations have no effect whatsoever on the rotational speed.
PLL  Quartz locked Servo Motor
The DQX-1000 uses a direct drive, frequency  governed servo motor for optimum speed stability. A strong 1,5 kg (3,3 lbs) starting torque facilitates fast, accurate speed attainment. And even under extreme conditions, the constant speed characteristics are unsurpassed: a 3 gram stylus pressure at 30 cm from the center of the platter produces non speed deviation

Turntable Frame
A unique 3-point supporting frame has been developed in order to increase the stability of the DQX-1000 system. Thus the mechanism is contained within the most stable operating conditions possible. The 1,9 kg frame is made of aluminium alloy.

 Motor Shaft Reinforcement
The motor frame features a structure which is integrayed with the unique 3-point supporting frame. The resonance which is generated as the platter rotates is improved with the resulting mechanical strength. A reinforcement effect is also provided for the motor shaft (platter shaft) since it serves as a supporting pillar. This is a structure which clearly defines the fulcrum of the platter when the records are being played.

Insulators
The two-layer absorber system consists of cushion rubber and fulcrum lies in the upper part of the insulators, the resulting low center of gravity both horizontally and vertically.
 Arm Mounts
Six modular arm mounts are available optionally for precise, convenient installation of any high quality tonearm on any of the three positions. Now you can easily compare performance characteristics of tonearms and cartridges in order to maximize the efficiency of your total system interface. The DQX-1000 allows you to match specific disc playback characteristics with your cartridges and loudspeakers for the fullest possible enjoyment.

Control Unit
The turntable controls and power supply have been incorporated in an independent unit for optimum ease of access to the power button, speed select buttons, and fine speed adjustment controls, which can very the rated speed ±6% - a full octave.
Magnetic materials are excluded from the cover, and a wooden case is employed in order to improve the sound quality. The quartz circuit has an On/Off control, and when it is set to Off, the signals bypass the PLL servo circuit entirely.

Micro Seiki DQX-500

DQX-500    FEATURES:
350 mm diameter platter with 600 kg×cm² moment of inertia and quartz lock servo PLL DC motor.
The platter used for the DQX-500 features an extremely high moment of inertia of 600 kg×cm², and this helps suppress fluctuations in the pulsive mechanical amplitude caused by the sound grooves on the record. As far as the static characteristics are concerned, the quartz lock servo system guarantees an outstanding control speed stability. However, it cannot be said to control perfectly the rendom transient load generated by the reproduction of the record sound. In particular, turntables rely for the most part on their platter’s moment of inertia to deal with disturbances in the high frequency range components for an overall improvement in the characteristics. Therefore, based on the basic servo control system, the static load fluctuations are absorbed by the quartz lock PLL system, and the dynamic load fluctuations are improved by the moment of inertia.

Stand-by lamp for easy rated speed checks .
The quartz lock servo PLL system provides a rotational speed with no deviation from the rated 33-1/3 rpm and 45 rpm speeds. There is no need for a strobe and so this has been abandoned in favor of a simple design. When the platter with its high moment of inertia reaches the rated speed the stand-by lamp goes off. This  action allows you to check whether or not the platter is revolving at the right speed.

Resonance-free monocoque frame.
The phonomotor and tonearm feature a sturdy integrated construction together with the metal frame composed of a three-legged configuration. This means that the turntable functions as a mechanical circulation system so that it is hardly affected at all by external vibration.
Micro's engineers got down to the bottom of the resonance modes caused by the conventional box-shaped construction and came up with a crystal-clear reproduced sound. This is design which is compact achieves an excellent weight balance and features absolutely no dead space. The motor shaft bearings are coupled to the frame with the reinforcement and there is plenty of mechanical strength to support the high inertia which accompanies the rotation of this heavyweight platter. All these features make for an extremely distinct sound image.

Outer power transformer power supply for an improvement in the signal-to-noise ratio.

In order to handle the very faint signals which are transmitted through the cartridge turntables have been beset with the problem of induction caused noise from the AC power source. If you use a moving coil cartridge, the flux generated by a power transformer, for instance can sometimes be the cause of hum. This is why the DQX-500 features a separate power transformer. It is designed to accommodate all the controls. You can therefore use the transformer as far away from the cartridge and tonearm as possible.
