Audio Innovations Alto amplifier

Audio Innovations has a long established range of high quality audio equipment. The marque has founded its reputation on a range of widely acclaimed valve amplification. It has always been the ambition of Audio Innovations to manufacture products with the best possible performance at any given price. To date, this has precluded the use of transistor circuitry as it was not felt to offer equivalent performance to similarly priced valve designs.

In recent years there has been widespread demand for an entry level Audio Innovations amplifier that would combine the performance for which the company aesthetic elan. The Alto is the response to that demand. It is an affordable high quality amplifier dedicated for use with Line Level sources. The experience gained during the evolution of the highly regarded L2 Line pre-amplifier emphasised the importance of handling these higher level signals with particular care. It is vital that the input selection, attenuation and following gain stage are designed to minimise compression and corruption of the signal while at the same time allowing it to be coupled with unrestricted bandwidth to the power stages of the amplifier.

Audio Innovations places great emphasis on reproducing music with a high level of tonal and dynamic coherence. This consistency, regardless of level or pitch, is fundamental to the accurate reproduction of instrument timbre and is absent in almost all transistor electronics. The Alto circuit configuration addresses the key areas where problems occur while its inherent simplicity allows a more faithful representation of the music to be presented to the loudspeakers.

Internally the Alto is constructed to the same exacting standared as our more expensive valve amplifiers. The circuit boards is CAD "in house" designed. Close tolerance metal-film resistors and high quality signal coupling capacitors are used throughout. Input sockets are gold plated and the bi-wireable speaker terminals are heavy duty binding posts which will accept banana plugs, spades or bare wire.

The Alto ofers the facility to operate up to four line inputs as well as two tape recorders, and will therefore integrate easily into most domestic audio systems. With looks and performance that belie it's price the Alto represents a genuine alternative for the style conscious audio enthusiast.

Audio Innovations - The First Audio Amplifier

The Audio Amplifier Series from Audio Innovations challenges a number of traditionally held beliefs, the most fundamental of which is the insistance that inn order for an amplifier to have a sufficient dynamic range, it must have a very high static power output. The second main misconception is that the amplifier must have low distortion; the third being the bandwidth nevessary to reproduce the audio apectrum.
The First Audio Amplifier is the first amplifier to significantly deviate from these design criteria. It is also first commercially available amplifier using the Direct Heated Triode, this being the most linear and load tolerant amplifying device available.
