What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

JVC R-S11 receiver

FM/AM Stereo Receiver.

All the Performance and Power You Should Ever Need

Then admit that the JVC R-S11 is the best buy around for your hi-fi money. Innovative features are many to keep vital hi-fi parameters up to snuff. Thanks to JVC microelectronics, performance has been improved and reliability enhanced several fold for years of trouble-free listening.

Output Capacitor=Less (OCL) design; for effective distortion-free performance

The power amp in the JVC R-S11 is of the time-tested fully complementary OCL configuration, with its internal stages directly coupled to each other. The bonus you get is clarity and crispness in reproduced sound. It delivers the rated outut, quoted above, with exceptionally low distortion.

Phono equalizer: Hear how the artists on your records really sound.

False coloration in reproduced music from disc records is annoying in the least, outrageous in the extreme. To avoid it, JVC has given the JVC R-S11 a phono equalizer that adds practically no color of its own - RIAA accuracy is maintained within ±0,5 dB .throughout a wide 20 Hz to 20 kHz range. The circuit makes use of Negative Feedback (NFB) to contain distortion and achieve a high 88 dB Signal-to-Noise Ratio (at 10 mV input).

Tone control: A useful hi-fi tool with NFB

We've made the bass and treble tone controls in the JVC R-S11 easier to use by providing slider-type control pots. And we've made tone control more accurate by designing the circuit to offer natural boost/cut characteristics; levels may be adjusted up to ±8 dB at frequencies centered al. 100 Hz and 10 kHz.

Peak Power Indication keeps you informed of actual output.

It's not often that you'll find a receiver in this price range with such an accurate indicator of actual power output. The eight green LEDs show the moment-by-moment peaks in the stereo output with extreme accuracy over a wide range from 0,03 to 25 watts. It's fun to watch and functional, too.

FM/AM tuner. Signal-pulling sensitivity and pin-point accuracy.

The combination is more than ideal; a junction FET RF amp, a 3-gang variable capacitor for FM and a PLL multiplex stereo demodulator contained in an IC. Weak signals are pulled in with almost no interference from powerful signals of adjacent stations, while strong signals are tamed for low overload distortion.

Tuning your favorite stations is easy - an array of the five LEDs shows when the signal is strongest (and distortion and noise lowest). A 3-LED FM tuning indicator tells you exactly when you're accurately tuned at the center of an FM broadcast.

Aiwa SA-A60 amplifier

Amplifier, tuner and cassette deck; all identically styled, all withexciting performance.

The SA-A60 integrated amplifier typifies a new breed of space-saving mini component designed for powerful, low distortion sound.

Dynamic Super Loudness for improved bass reproduction

Mere tone adjustment or use of conventional loudness compensation can only enhance bass signals at the expense of affecting listening quality in midrange frequencies as well. The new DSL circuit in the SA-A60 puts back electronically what the speaker itself is unable to do strucurally, DSL performs at its best at quiet listening levels; its effect is automatically attenuated in response to output volume, keeping tone quality natural whether at low, medium or high volumes. Whether with bookshelf size or larger floor standing speakers, every type of music stands to benefit from this exciting new achievement.

Built-in MC cartridge head amp

Just press in the front panel switch and you can enjoy the distinctive tone quality of Moving Coil phono cartridges on the SA-A60 without the need for expensive outboard head amplifier units. MM cartridge performance is outstanding as well; the precision phono equalizer boasts a superb 85 dB Signal-to-Noise Ratio and RIAA deviation within ±0,2 dB from 20 to 20,000 Hz

Stabilized power supply

For full power performance with extra stability, the 30 watt per channel power stage incorporates a heavy-duty toroidal core transformer. Power ICs are protected by a new type of temperature sensitive circuit designed to guard against overheating.

Plus Features:

Wireless remote control terminal

7-step peak power output display

-20 dB muting switch

Aiwa AP-D60 turntable

Direct-Drive Turntable

One of the world's slimmest at just 71 mm in overall height, the AP-D60 incorporates Aiwa's new "Linear direct-drive" motor for reduced wow and flutter, low rumble.

New "Integrated Tonearm" system

Because headshell, cartridge and tonearm have been designed for maximum compatibility, this new system offers a number of advantages over conventional models. Lowered mass of the integrated unit effectively increases compliance, while at the same time lowering the tonearm's resonance "Q: to minimize adverse effects of record warp frequency.

Linear DD motor

Unlike previous direct drive designs which place the motor beneath the platter spindle, the AP-D60's unique construction drives the platter by means of alternating current generated by a ring of magnets on the platter's outer adge. This enables space reduction and provides smooth rotation with a minimum of vibration.

Automatic record size selection

A photoelectric sensor mechanism below the turntable mat detects the size of the record and relays this information to the tonearm mechanism. This system ensures that the stylus will be protected from the kind of "accidents" to which non-thinking automatic turntables are so prone.

Plus Features:

Full front panel control design

Adjustable pitch control with stroboscopic indicators

Auto-repeat facility

Solid, anti-howling cabinet material

Removable dust cover

Sony PS-LX3 turntable

Impeccable Performance and Advanced Fully-Automatic Operation

There are no better examples of Sony attention to the comfort and convenience of the listener than the PS-LX3 fully-automatic turntables. These models feature a high-degree of automation. As you would expect, there's automatic start and automatic return at the end of play. If you want to hear the record more than once, you merely touch "repeat" and it will obey your command until you change it.

A feature important for both convenience and safety is Sony's automatic record-size selector. A series of "windows" in he platter mat permit light to travel from a point toward the back of the turntable to two photo-sensors beneath the platter.

The sensors cause the arm to index for a 12" or 7" record automatically. When no record is on the platter, the sensors prevent any indexing at all. In this way, the tonearm, cartridge and stylus are protected from damage even if the start button is accidentally pressed with no record on the platter.

There is also a circuit which silences all audio during the start and return phases of the turntable in particular, this muting circuit eliminates the unpleasant "pop" which invariably takes place when the stylus descends into the groove. Both turntables can, with the optional Sony RM-65 , work in synchronization with selected Sony cassette deck models, for significantly enhanced convenience.
