Stand - mount/Bookshelf loudspeaker system
Braced cabinet construction dramatically reduces cabinet resonance by adding the twin
virtues of strength and rigidity to the cabinet walls. Gold-plated terminals permit bi-wiring
or bi-amplification.
Having the tweeter separate from the main cabinet readily allows it to be set back and
time aligned with the acoustic centre of the bass/midrange cone, which is located behind
the plane of the front baffle, and minimises the effects of diffraction from the cabinet edges.
This results in improved imaging and coherence
Technical highlight
B&W's Tweeter on top technology ensures that the sound remains focused
and time-sensitive and that the stereo image is presented with unparalleled
three dimensional accuracy.
Kevlar®: B&W developed and patented the method of using Kevlar® fo
loudspeaker cones to reduce unwanted standing waves. DuPont originally
created Kevlar® for use in bulletproof vests.
