What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Kyocera B-910 (1983)

Kyocera's DC high-speed power amplifier features dynamic power supply

for maximum power and sound quality.

Like its matching pre-amplifier, the C-910, Kyocera's B-910 Power Amplifier begins by taking conventional amplifier design a few significant steps forward. It uses a CCR base chasiss and an FCL module for the input stage both for the purpose of eliminating resonance. It is designed to deliver a continuous power output of 150 W per channel into an 8 ohm load or 200 W per channel into a 4 ohm load - more than enough to handle the sudden power surges that are often required for digital program sources. The high power and high current delivery ability of the B-910 is made possible by a huge power transformer to perform to its full potential an oversized honeycomb heat sink of very high rigidity has been included to effectively dissipate all heat.

In the B-910 traditional two-stage voltage amplification has been replaced by an Single Stage Push-pull (SSP) circuit that eliminates the second voltage amplifying stage. This and an output stage without a negative feedback loop combine to create the widest possible dynamic range in a power amplifier. The B-910 then uses Kyocera's proprietary Fine Ceramic Linear (FCL) module and Ceramic Compound Resin (CCR) base to prevent unwanted temperature variations from adversely effecting the amplifier's most critical circuitry.

Features

Utilization of a newly developed FCL module avoids sound quality deterioration due to unwanted vibration and DC drift.

High 150 W per channel at 8 ohm, 200 W per channel at 4 ohm.

Single Stage Push-pull circuit improves open-loop performance and requires minimum use of negative feedback.

Powerful over-sized power supply transformer with 600 VA core volume.

DC high-speed amplification

Power transistors with 900 W

High input impedance MOS_FET driver stage

Non-negative feedback output stage

CCR base chasiss shutt out unwanted vibration both in terms of material and structural design

Oversized resonance free heat sink efficiently dissipates heat
