What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Kenwood KL-777 loudspeakers

To reproduce in clear sound without distortion anything from the earth-shaking basso profundo of pipe organ to delicate overtone of a violin or the sharp sound of cymbals … this is the requirement speakers  must fullfill as an outlet for sound, . In its challenge to surmount this difficult objective, Kenwood so far has marketed numerous excellent speaker systems.
Based on our ampie past experiences, we now have completed the model KL-777, a power ful 15", 4-way , 6-speaker system.
The large diameter 15" woofer rock beautifully reproduces basso profundo which will even rock the room. Treble and mid-range are handled by two squawkers and two tweeters. A full range of ultra-high frequencies is freshly reproduced by new acoustic material called "mylar film" used in the corn type super tweeter.
The front grille is of the "bow line" design giving the set a classic appearance to accent a room-interior. When the grille is removed, it will show the buffle of refined finish, on which the level control is attached for adjustment of tone quality suitable for the room.

Woofer.
The newly developed powerfull 15", free-edge type woofer reproduces the fundamental a area with minimum distortion. This woofer, being specially designed for the air-suspension model, has successfully been made compact cabinet for the 15" class. The effective range is 800 Hz or below.

Mid-range
The most important range of 800 Hz - 5,000 Hz in music is reproduced by two 5" cornt-type mid-range, parallelly connected. They richly reproduce the mid-range. Being parallelly arranged, their allowable input has been increassed and effixiency improval.

Horn Tweeter
The two horn tweeters, which reproduce treble crisply, are parallelly arranged for improved directivity and increassed allowable input.

Super tweeter
The new acoustic material called "Mylar film" is used in the super tweeter which handles the cone above 10,000 Hz. The normal corn using fiber material is somewhat non-uniform in inner structure due to directional peculiarities of fiber. This is apt to cause split vibrations at high keys.
"mylar film" being of even and uniform structure does not give split vibrations at high keys. Also, because a small quantity is used, ultra-high frequencies beyond the audio frequency can be beautifukky reproduced without distortion.
It being of small diameter and corn type, the directivity is also greatly improved.

Network
The network may appear to be of little relation to the tone quality. However, it could cause distortions near the crossover points or damping inferiority in ultra low frequencies. Model KL-777 takes a full scale network of 12 dB/oct with the ferrite core which gives less magnetic loss. The copper wire used for voice coils can  amply endure the overload and help avoid distortions due to interventions near crossovers or damping inferiority in ultra-low frequencies.

Tone Selector
The tone selector is positioned in the front panel for easy operations.
"Soft" tone is suitable for room in which there is insufficiency in bass or where treble along are reflected.
"Clear" tone is for a boomy room which has insufficient absorption of bass or in which treble alone are absorbed.
"Normal" tone is for a normal room which may be say, in between the above two.

Cabinet
The front grille is of the "bow line" design giving a classic and calm appearance as an accent for the room interior.
Despite the large woofer used, it is comparatively compact and slim facilitating free setting. The front buffle is finely finished and, thus, one may remove the front grille and enjoy its professional appearance. The grille can be easily removed by hand.

Allowable Input
With its maximum input of 100 W, it is capable of reproducing large sound. Further, it can be safely used in combination with an amplifier of large output.
Sensitivity
The air-suspension type model is considered characteristic and advantageous with its compact enclosure and capability to reproduce ultra-low frequencies. In contrast, however, its sensitivity is not favorable. Therefore, unless an amplifier of a large output is used, it might not effectively perform its function.
Unlike other air-suspension type models, the KL-777 has gained high sensitivity of 102 dB and can fully perform the function with and amplifier of small output.
Speaker terminals
The one-touch connection terminal has been newly adopted for simple yet firm connection of cords.
