Two-way design in compact Box
This is a compact 2-way, 2-speaker bass reflex system that features the same 3-way capability as other more expensive SK systems do. With its new Wide-Range Cone tweeter, that includes a specially treated cone diaphragm and a superalloy metal cap, the SK-500 offers a wide and flat response from 40 to 20,000 Hz. The woofer employs a hard diaphragm, specially treated, for increased rigidity and flexibility to reproduce mids as well as bass with musical quality. Both are designed to reproduce the loudest passages without trace of coloration or distortion.
Comfortable 70 Watts of input
Couple a pair of SK-500 speakers to a medium to low power amplifier and stand awed at its potential for low-distortion loud sound reproduction. Actually the SK-500 features a high 91 dB efficiency, so you can literally fill your room with powerful sound. The system also accepts an input power of 70 watts, more power than you'd expect in a system priced so low.
Network, Enclosure and Other Features
Meticulous attention has been paid to the design of the SK-500. JVC's Phase Moire Propagation method assures smooth tonal transitions between woofer and tweeter. The cabinetry is solid, sturdy and beautiful. There's a low-loss, low-error dividing network and much more.
