Stereo Cassette Deck with Dolby B NR System
One look at the CT-3 from Pioneer tells you that it's no ordinary cassette deck. First, it doesn't have the cluttered look that is the norm with all too many decks on today's market. Second, it's equipped with responsive soft touch buttons. And third, it sports the new Pioneer "look", which is common to all our finest audio equipment. Building a matched system around the CT-3 is a cinch. Most important, the CT-3 is easy to use, so you can make good recording with a minimum of fuss and a maximum of success. Indeed, we doubt that you will find another deck anywhere that's as easy to operate as the CT-3 from Pioneer.
Soft Touch Operation and One Touch Recording
Despite its small price tag, the CT-3 offers comfortable touch-operated control buttons, made possible through the use of the "power-assisted" tape transport. This is a Pioneer exclusive design that exploits the natural inertia of the rotating flywheel to provide power for mode changes. It assures silent and comfortable operation.
To initiate recording, all you need do is touch the record button you don't need to push the play button at the same time, which allows you to fly into the record mode instantly.
Pioneer "Music Search"
Our "Music Search" feature automatically rewinds or fast forwards the tape back to the beginning of the same selection or ahead to the beginning of the next selection. The procedure couldn't be easier.
Set the deck in the play mode and just touch the fast forward button. You're automatically whisked to the beginning of the next selection. Touch the rewind button instead of fast forward and you're back at the beginning of the song currently playing. With a minimum of fuss, you can repeat the same song over and over, or skip right to the song of your choice.
6-LED Bar-Graph Level Displays and Rec Mute
Together, these features help you create clean-sounding tapes that sound as good as if professionally edited. Two LED bar-graph arrays show momentary peaks in the program level with electronic precision and responsiveness. LEDs above 0 dB are tinted red as a warring.
Recording mute allows you to add blanks between recorded segments on a tape without disturbing the record level control. By using Rec Mute in conjunction with the pause control, it's easy to edit as you record cutting commercials and adding pauses of appropriate length between selections.
Other features include:
Record/Play head made of sendust-reinforced permalloy for metal-particle tape
Dolby B noise reduction system for hiss-free taping
Multiplex (MPX) filter for accurate Dolby NR operation
Silent compartment lid locking mechanism.
