What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Centrex by Pioneer RH-60 8-track

8-track home stereo recording deck
Recording or playback, a new adventure in 8-track with fast-forward and "One-All_Endless" function.
Now, you can create your own musical universe in 8-track. With the RH-60, part of the new Centrex line of home stereo systems and equipment by Pioneer, this elegantly crafted unit records as easily and superbly as it plays back.
Hard-to-beat features for perfect recording and perfect playback.
Simplified tape indexing
The RH-60's fast-forward button and program end indicator lamp work with one another to make tape indexing, which is crucial for precise recording, easier than ever. Just insert the cartridge, press fast-forward, and the lamp will light up-with the tape stopping automatically - to indicate that the tape has been properly indexed.

Recording level adjustment knobs
Accurately marked for both left and right channels, these enable you to adjust the recording level to the input. No guesswork you see everything on the corresponding level meters.

Large recording/playback level meters
For at-a-glance cheks of input level when recording, output level when playing back. Precisely calibrated from  -20 dB to +3 dB.

Automatic power switch on/off
When the cartridge is inserted, power automatically goes on; when the cartridge is pulled back, the power is switched off.

Fast-forward and pause buttons
Features normally found in higher-priced decks, these make recording or playback operations more convenient.

Versatile function selector
Press "One" to record or play back just one program, "All" for continuous Program 1-4 recording or playback and "Endless" for non-stop, repeat operation.

Light-up indicators
The RH-60 will never leave you in the dark. There's tape program indicator to tell you at a glance which program is in play, a program and indicator and a recording indicator. They make recording and playback easy, sit-back-and-enjoy-it affairs.
