What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

SAE Mark VIB tuner

SAE Mark VIB FM Digital Tuner
The SAE Mark VIB is the ulmost in versatility, reliability and the faithful reproduction of FM signals. Many new developments are unique to the Mark VIB. Foolproof tuning accuracy is achieved through the use of these exclusive SEA features. Digital Readout Frequency Display, the display of tuning and audio signals on a 3" rectangular oscilloscope, and the automatic selection of this oscilloscope display by a touch
sensitive tuning knob.
The Mark VIB is the industry's first FM tuner which features a direct numerical readout of the assigned frequency in MHz of the FM station tuned, SAE's Digital readout measures directly the tuner's own oscillator frequency with an accuracy equal to that required by the FCC for FM broadcast stations. In addition, the Mark VIB incorporates ultra-low distortion, outstanding separation and exceptional quieting and selectivity. It exhibits its superiority in weak signal areas of congested urban locations where critical tuning is necessary.

Digital readout Frequency Display
Four long-life Nixie readout tubes identify the precise station frequency for any of the 100 channels available across the FM band. The readout count is updated 60 times per second to permit fast tuning across the band. Anti-hunt circuity is incorporated to prevent inter digital flickering.

Oscilloscope
A high-intensity 3" rectangular oscilloscope accurately displays the presence of multi-path distortion, center-of-channel tuning, relative signal strength and Lissajous displays of all stereo and mono signals with provisions for external inputs. Should a signal be absent, the oscilloscope trace intensity is automatically diminished.
