What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Revox B 760

With the B760 Revox brought the FM fM-Tuner to the third generation on the market. It united the successful construction principles of the predecessor models A76 and A720 with large convenient operation and far improved receivings caracteristics. Augenfuelliges characteristic of the Revox B760 - Frontplatte was the field with 15 programmable transmitter keys. The display indicated the station frequency and the storage location.

The dissolution of the crystal accurate tuning was doubled, the raster amounted to now 25 kHz or 840 steps in the UKW volume again. Thus the Revox B760 was from the outset suitable also for "bent" transmitter frequencies and the arising cable systems with converters.

Who wanted to test its receipt situation accurately exactly, an oscilloscope exit was available at the B760. On the screen were analyzable thereby signal strength and stroke. In Europe for the start time of the Revox B760 of attempts with dolbysiertem UKW broadcast made with the goal of improving the dynamics further. The B760 was prepared for it. The optional modules are today useless witnesses of an attempt.

With the designation Studer A176 was adapted the FM fM-Tuner B760 also for professional employments. For the purists with rotor antennas the Revox B760 brought likewise a principal innovation: the programmable direction control. The code for antenna position was along-stored thereby in the MEMORY so that when touching the station key lightly the rotor turned equal on the programmed position.
