Pioneer TX-500
Compact Tuner with High Performance Characteristics
Here's the tuner for
stereo fan who doesn't want a high-priced set but desires first class AM/FM
reception. The TX-500 from Pioneer contains advanced features that put it on a
par with much more expensive tuners. It is all solid state, has FM multiplex circuitry
and an FET in the front end. There are such useful additions as a stereo noise
filter and advanced siliocon transistors throughout. It is designed to fit in
ideally with the best stereo system.
Features:
FM Front End
By utilizing an FET,
the FM front end image rejection rating is far superior to conventional sets. A
high sensitivity and better signal to noise ratio are both products of this
superior FM section. FM broadca can be delivered with original clarity and a minimum
of interference, and with cross modulation eliminated.
Stereo Performance
In the FM multiplex
circuit there is an envelope detection type demodulator which provides wide
channel separation and virtually guarantees perfect hi-fi stereo. Frequency
response is excellen. If noise should arise, due to insufficient antenna input
for FM stereo. Pioneer has cleverly included a special noise filter which can
eliminate any unwanted multiplex broadcast noises. A mono, stereo and
mono/stereo control knob is mounted on the front panel and provides for quick
and easy manual selection.
Advanced IF Section
With the low noise
silicon transistors and a high quality transformer in the 4-stage IF section,
much improved signal to noise ratio and better selectivity are made possible.
AM Tuner
The superheterodyne
AM tuner has a receiving band of between %@% - 1605 kHz. This equals the range
of any FM station so that everything that is broadcast, you hear. At the rest
of the TX-500 is a ferrite bar antenna that is extremely sensitive, to efficiently
receive any AM broadcast
Elegant and
Functional Design
The TX-500
complements any hig class stereo system. It contains such useful extras as a
tape recorder terminal for FM stereo recording; an easily switchable line
voltage selector for adjustment to your local voltage, and an output level
control. All this comes in a handsome cabinet with brushed chrome facial and
expensive Brazilian rosewood end pieces.
