What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Toshiba SA-514

 Hi-Fi Stereo / Quadro Receiver SA-514
A new highlight in the traditional line of Toshiba Hi-Fi receivers. Quadro unlimited and Stereo at its best.

Quadro Decoder - for RM,  SQ  and  Discrete  modes  and  de-modulation of  CD-4

FM Muting - for suppression of interstation noise

Two Tape Monitor Push-Buttons - permit the connection of two tape recorders for dubbing from tape onto tape
Loudness Contour Circuits - and two Auxiliary inputs for the connection of additional sound sources; Hi and Low filters for suppression of noise on older records and tapes

Four level-set Controls - for separate control of each channel plus master volume control

OCL Circuits - in the power amplifiers eliminate capacitors for optimum transient response.

FETs and Ceramic Filters -  in the tuner and IF sections ensure low-noise reception combined with excellent sensitivity.

BTL Circuits - provide Stereo reproduction with two speakers using the full power of four channels.

Multiple Speaker Switch -  for complex switching of up to 8 speakers in two groups.
