What is stereo?




There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Monitor Audio R 252

 The Monitor Audio R252 is similar to the R100 in fundamental design but incorporates subtle differences which are apparent in the sound produced.
Physically larger than the R100, the R252 utilizes a 1 inch polyamide tweeter with Monitor Audio's 100 strand copper cable used for internal wiring. Thick plactic foam lines the cabinets to reduce undesirable resonances, which would otherwise colour the sound. Monitor Audio's attention to detail goes so far as to hotglue the crossover elements to their housing, thus ensuring nothing can vibrate and muddle the music.
The end result is superbly finished real wood veneered cabinets, giving you excellent stereo imaging and good accurate bass resolution.
