What is stereo?




There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Sansui AU-519 amplifier

Straight DC and Diamond Differential DC - Two Sansui Original Circuit Designs for Lower TIM, Purer Sound

Fresh, dynamic musical reproduction. It's the result of Sansui's advanced amplifier technology, taking a new and in-depth look at the causes of coloration of tonal quality and fuzziness in stereo imaging. And finding ways to end them.
Some of the things we've discovered are truly amazing. TI (that's Transient Intermodulation) distortion, for instance is one of the things that stand in the way of pure musical reproduction. We/ve lowered the TIM and improved the slew rate dramatically in all our AU integrated amps, the AU-519 included All-DC design and Sansui's pat pend "Diamond Differential DC" circuit give us tremendous advantages over the competition.

Power output in the AU-519 is a pleasing 70 watts per channel, min. RMS, both channels driven into 8 Ω , from 10 to 20,000 Hz with no more than 0,008% Total Harmonic Distortion. It adds up to a medium priced "best-buy" amp from the prestigious AU lineup by Sansui, where it's all hi-fi.
