What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

Double Auto Reverse Cassette Deck

The W-800R is composed of two fully functional auto-reverse decks in a single chassis. This format offers a number of advantages, the first of which is tape dubbing - set one transport to play and the other to record and copy tapes at normal or high speed. You can also use both transports for recording, either at the same time or one followed by the other for taping long musical works. And for extended playback time, both decks feature auto-reverse as well as repeat of one side, two sides or both sides of both cassettes. Since each transport has its own IC logic control system, tape transport functions and simultaneous starting are smooth and precise.

Dolby HX Pro Headroom Extension

Working in tandem with Dolby B or C noise reduction, HX Pro provides better performance than either system could on its own. It lowers the bias level at high-frequency peaks, preventing "self-biasing" which would otherwise occur, for a widend recordable dynamic range. Dolby HX Pro operates only during recording, so you can play tapes recorded with it on any standard deck, even one not equipped with HX Pro.
