Stereo Cassette Deck GXC-709D
A GX recording/playback head, Akai's A.D.R. System, Dolby NR Circuit, Memory Rewind, two Peak level Indicators and a four-position Tape Selector to give superb sound reproduction
GX Record/Playback Head
The GXC-709D employs a GX (glass and crystal ferrite) recording/playback head. The carefully selected materials and special construction result in more durability and trouble free performance with outstanding elimination of sound drop-out and improved Signal-to-Noise Ratio ratio, while minimizing high frequency loss for a wider dynamic range. Be sides, the design of the crucial point where the head pad is located means that tapes can be used over and over again with virtually no wear, so that better performance is achieved together with better economy.
Vivid playback with Akai A.D.R. circuit and Dolby NR system.
In addition to the famous Dolby Noise reduction System which makes tape hiss totally inaudible by adjusting low level signals prior to recording and during playback, Akai's A.D.R. (Automatic Distortion Reduction) Circuit helps bring out the full dynamic range of the tape by reducing distortion at high frequencies during recording.
Four -position tape selector
This tape selector has settings for four different kinds of tape; LN, LH, CrO₂,and FeCr. Turning this switch to the proper setting will bring out the full quality of the tape for better recording and playback. And by means of this switch, virtually any kind of cassette tape on the market can be used.
Built-in memory circuit
Used in conjunction with, the index counter, this memory circuit will stop the tape during rewind at any pre-set point.
Two peak level indicators
In order to warn of excessive input, this model has two peak level indicators. One lights at +7 dB, and the other at +3 dB. The best recordings can be obtained by setting the volume so that the +3 dB indicator is frequently lit and the +7 dB one light only at times of largest input.
MPX Filter
When recording an FM stereo broadcast from FM receiver or tuner with Dolby NR, distortion caused by the 19 kHz pilot signal may occur. The GXC-709D has a special MPX filter to eliminate such distortion. And a switch enables the filter to be turned off for restoration of the full frequency response range.
Excellent DC Motor
This durable DC motor is controlled by a special electronic system and has high torque performance so that a constant speed is maintained in spite of any changes in voltage or tape load to give a wow and flutter of less than 0,06% WRMS.
